kpr Posted May 30, 2025 Posted May 30, 2025 makes idle control and the likes easier. since usually tuning with tps for load. you cant just bypass air around the throttles without going lean or having some kind of compensation map. also if running decent sized throttles, small throttle opening is a lot of airflow. so can build a non linear throttle table to make it nicer to drive. rather than a weird linkage setup 2 Quote

Ethrottle blip for gear changes. (This is so wildly good and fun, its amazing) Then one of the really awesome things if you've got a TPS based tune. (Which pretty much most/all ITB setups will do) Is that you can really repeatedly tune your part throttle rows a lot better. Because you can make it so (for example) anything above 50% on the pedal, will hold the motor at exactly 50% throttle. So you can dial in some changes to VVT, or ignition timing, or your fuel map or whatever really nicely. As much as people say that ITB gives good throttle response, it doesnt necessarily if you cant tune those part throttle rows nicely. ITB with a crap tune can still make for real soggy throttle. Getting those part throttle rows dialled in really well, makes everything super snappy. It can be hard to hold the motor at exactly the right spot with a cable throttle. Unless you make throttle stoppers or something. 9 Quote
