Since you're a boost fiend at heart,

I should bring over some drinks some time after the engine is in the car, and brainwash you as to why this vehicle absolutely needs an Eaton M90. Also how eye wateringly easy one would be to fit........

Beddies do nothing for me tbh. (British cars in general) but an LD28s plus boost are a match made in heaven.

I was told back when my Bedford was converted that Blackett Eng who dealt in LD28's were looking at a turbo'd one for an aircraft repower.

Never heard if it got off the ground.

My non turbo'd one empty would lift the left front if you nailed it hard.Ā  1 foot of 4 off the ground, lol.

Well that's promising..

What rear gears do you have and how's it up hills...as I've been told by previous owner it would lose power in a pot hole

Mine was the shorter wheelbase and had been fitted with a PC Cresta diff by a PO. When the LD28 went into it, Waterloo diesels were impressed by how quick it was. It would cruise at a genuine 115K. Going to the West Coast towing a TQ on a trailer it was low range on the auto up the passes but did it quite easily. Maybe a better LD28 than the usual or simply a better gearing match.

It had the OE 13in wheels fitted which was a limiting factor. If I'd changed it to 14's it would have been geared too tall. I twice rolled a rear tyre off the rim. Once high speed over an "S" railway crossing and once with the TQ and trailer on.

It's still alive afaik as a mobile shed on a Canterbury farm. Too rusty in the end to get a WOF.

That sounded perfect ..

The PO of this had nothing nice to say about the ld28.

But my setup will be ld28 (with turbo). 3 speed auto (with OD).

And thanks to Gaz (on here i just got an PC cresta diffĀ  Ā  and uya running 14" wheels.

Just want to have it be able to do road speeds and not struggle up hills.

With a 4 speed auto (with overdrive) they love a 4.1:1 rear end.Ā

The old boy put a Toyota MS65 crown diff in the back of his XD ute.Ā  (We still have one in stock ackshully)Ā Ā

I think you under estimate how easily you could supercharge one.Ā

Plus because it will run full boost 24/7 (Because no throttle body) there will be no black smoke at any time. (Unlike turbo ones, which chooch all of the soot until the turbo spools up)Ā

Like I say, a bit of Indoctrination from me, and I'm sure you'll come around to my way of thinking!

Like I sayĀ  it does sound cool but I have turbos and I don't have an m90 supercharger and the turbo manifold is easy made.... and I'm never and the end of the exhaust pipe so not to worried about what comes out.

So sorry mate you will have to keep looking for someone who is keen to do this .

^ That one stopped outside work maybe 1-2 months ago Im pretty sure, I think in the right light I swear I could see a intercooler. Looked pretty good in person, I was winding one of the workers up telling them it was their next job - as they were shaking their heads in disgust

A couple of neurons just collided and I remembered something.

It wasn't bad at all as delivered post conversion - but I had a feeling it could be better. They'd used the OE petrol engine exhaust as it was there and in good nick. I felt it was restrictive so made up a bigger bore pipe. Side exit and one straight through muffler. Noticeably more top end once that was on. Revved right out freely.
