dmulally Posted October 13 Posted October 13 Ive used it on stuff like chassis and trailers as a bare metal winner takes all. Never bothered with a top coat. 1 Quote
tortron Posted October 13 Posted October 13 its not porus like a primer, its not UV rated, it will go milky in the sun, but is otherwise fairly resistant. i have used it by itself, under cars, or as a base/sealer to be top coated currently my ute tray is sitting in it from bare metal 4 years ago without any signs of degredation (so its not porus as primer would be showing rust) i have had it peel a table frame, it was heavily pitted, i flapdisked it and hit thr pits with wire brush on grinder (no chemical rust removal), brushed durepox on and then left it outside in the rain. the rust spread under it after about 3 years where it was touching the ground it sets really hard, so if you get a run or whatever in it and you are going to topcoat then best to sand the lot within a few days rather than weeks. brushes well, fairly self leveling They will also tint it a bunch of colours 1 Quote
anglia4 Posted October 13 Author Posted October 13 Thanks guys. I’ll get it to use as an all in one. I’m thinking I might brush/roller it on just so I don’t have to deal with overspray etc. Remembering this is a patina car, not a show pony. 1 Quote
