Popular Post chris r Posted Thursday at 16:59 Popular Post Posted Thursday at 16:59 Textual wiring update. Logo engine loom went in the bin, pretty much all that was kept was the body side plug. Tested those wires and found what was needed - oil light, alternator light, check engine light , power feeds, fuel pump relay trigger. The sohc zc came with a loom out of a Integra. Stripped all the conduit off that and deleted the unneeded wires. Needed to get a section of a third loom for the distributor harness. Luckily the logo is small and just the engine side harness is long enough to reach the ecu and we didn't have to fuck around with extra plugs or extending anything Trimmed and re pinned some connectors to suit then started plugging stuff in. Fed the ecu side through the firewall We had a look for a Honda ecu but it turns out finding a 30 year old ecu is not as easy as it used to be.... This however was Just got the ecu plug and terminated the existing loom into it Powering the ecu off usb-c is brilliant! I could start the config from the comfort of inside the house 10 2 Quote
chris r Posted Sunday at 20:31 Posted Sunday at 20:31 Fuck this thing is clean! It's giving me a inferiority complex Finished off the wiring. Ezpz Put water and oil in. Ezpz Install software onto laptop. This is where the wheels fell off Finally got laptop to cooperate. Got confused with why it was throwing temp sensor faults. We had triple checked the wiring was correct (which it was) Turns out I didn't save the inputs to the correct wire in the ecu. Then had 'fun' spending too long struggling with setting the timing 5 Quote
Rhyscar Posted Sunday at 21:14 Posted Sunday at 21:14 This is coming out so epic. Love the scope creep to aftermarket ecu, but will make your life so much easier for the foreseeable future. It also removes another hurdle for future engine mods too. 4 Quote
cletus Posted Sunday at 21:34 Posted Sunday at 21:34 i love how much this has snowballed from 'new cheap runabout to drive while i finish my project car' to this 4 Quote

Can do heaps with the stock honda ecu, but my tuner /Honda ecu guy is on holiday so haltech it is. I need to get good at more than wiring now to get it running 😅 2 Quote
