Super quiet on this front. Brought a new house with room for big shed. So have been flat stick with all that’s involved with buying/selling/moving. Hoping to make a start on new shed in next few months. So I’d say that will keep me busy for quite a while. As want to make it suitable and comfortable for working in 

I have however purchased a replacement turbo. A PSR gtx2860R gen2 which I will machine factory GTIR front cover to fit. 
Also have set wheels in motion for the spare gearbox to be rebuilt with the fancy center diff  

So yeah on hold for a bit but will continue to buy parts and surf in boot till such time it can be worked on again in new shed

The Gtir is still very buried in the garage.

but found a few hours to myself the other day and decided to mince about on this a little. A while back I brought a pulsar gtx2860R for it. I very nearly got more carried away and brought a 2867 but decided to be a bit more sensible for once and got the 60 taking the gamble on that due to the compressor wheels being the same size I might be able to swap compressor covers

took next to no photos but turns out it was as simple as swapping the comp cover backing plate over she all bolted up.

so now I have a ball bearing factory looking turbo that has 1mm bigger turbine wheel and modern aero. 
 

my car for whatever reason had the waterlines removed from the turbo so I’ll have to make water lines and probably a new oil line unless I can fit a restrictor to the factory oil line some how

but overall great success

Unfortunately not. Really wanted to keep it till the black car was done but was moving and gave it away for a song to a friend. It’s been resprayed since then tho and getting a good tidy up so that’s cool

How far off are you with the build?

Still haven’t touched it coming up 18 months. Moved house.  Building a shed. 
I have motor out to do a clutch and repair turbo. I’ve done turbo. But haven’t brought a clutch yet. Also have a stripped gearbox ready for rebuild and a center lsd to fit. Bit kind want to fit a straight cut final drive as they reportedly take a heap of load off the shit gearbox cases . So I have plenty to push on with. Just lots of side track projects sucking up time and money. So it’s tucked away under cover in the shed
