Yeah, possibly engine just needs a few heat cycles and some actual driving to decrud the lifters or something but for now it starts pretty much if you breath on the key and idles nice.

(in the video it was first start for weeks and we forgot where the choke pull was)

Engine and box will come out for a proper clean and a going over at some point

Appreciate the sentiment, but its not happening, the reason why this car has this engine and box in the first pace is why its getting any love at all

Besides that will need to source and install a 3 speed manual or auto box, and nope.

Nice work on the wheel arch. You forgot to mention that from the factory all those bit were somewhat welded together and left in bare steel. A good bath of fish oil when its finished will keep it good for another 50 years.

and then a pic of round 27 of 58 fill 'n sands, still a few wobbles to smooth out...

 

And I thought it was just me that had to go through this slow painfull process. I feel much better now.

Nice work. It's good to see another old HQ Holden being repaired. For the amount that were built you rarely see them anymore.
