Yeah I'm happy with that, should be heaps of fun.
I was a little worried that weight bloat from things like needing 2x exhaust manifolds. Might tip the scales towards this all becoming a fairly pointless exercise over keeping the old motor.

250kw per ton is a pretty happy power to weight

Although the low-ish weight is cool, it also shows what an absolutely hopelessly thin bean can early 80s cars are.

Amen to that, was always in the back of my mind at dual sprints/track days, 950~kg 80s jap cars probably dont crash well.

I recall 21 or 22 year old me going 240kph plus at pukekohe in my kp, 3 point belts, no cage, no worries. 

Wtf was I thinking. I guess the hilux brakes would have got a bit if a workout.

And of course the occasional slide at the last turn at 180kph and dipping a wheel onto the grass. No thanks, not these days.

200 kgs heavier than my Imp though! - yeah bigger car and engine etc but I don't think your car is that tinny. Just the way things were before they got huge and fat. 

I love to corner weight nine. Must ask the friend who had the same scales I had used to with my viva with the v6 (which was a simar weight to your car iirc)

I remember ages ago there was a Cressida in a paddock that I needed some engine mounts out of. So I tied a rope around the B pillar and flipped it over back and forth until I could get them out. 

The first time I pulled it over onto its roof, the A pillar just absolutely folded in like it was cardboard. Man it was pretty sobering to think my car was built the same way. Haha.

I saw your post about the dual lambda trim and such this morning, and thought you might like look at the BCS LPC8 ecu, I think there are a lot of features you would take advantage of, namely the custom strategies section where you can program whatever you would like directly in the ecu.

Ahhh, made by that dude Baldur. Seen some of his posts, he's a smart guy. 

MaxxECU is looking like it's got some nice features and plenty of flexibility too, a few guys here that are tuners seem to love them.

yea Maxx is all good they are definitely a strong force here in Scandinavia, but they are still quite locked in in terms of features, and development areas, also the price is up there.
