C@nts. Their only response

“triple check your system as our supplier has sold over 3000 of these in Australia and yours is the first warranty issue”.

Today’s email

“Morning Paul

Willwood have gotten back to me, and they have a few questions

the chances of the master cylinder not working from the get-go is pretty rare. Hydraulic units are pressure tested on site, post assembly, prior to being bagged and boxed. This is relatively large bore, at 1”, so in most cases there wouldn’t be a fluid volume issue.

A few questions I’d like to get some answers to, and with that we may have some recommendations to follow.

Was this installed on a booster?

Is the master cylinder mounted on the firewall or under the floor?

Do we know what brakes are being used front and rear?

Thanks,

Stealth Ride”

My response, I wanted to give them a few cool words, but I’m better than them.

“It seems to me that either yourselves or Wilwood have zero interest in resolving this.

To stem the bleeding of having it sit in the workshop waiting for this never ending outcome, SprintRE had sent this to Stirling brake and clutch and had it repaired within 5 days.

It now functions as it should have from the start.

I’m just dumbfounded how slack this whole process has been, with not a single solution offered.

More so just finger pointing.

There will be not a single positive review from my end.

good day sir”

Honestly, send them the bill, it's proof it needs repairs

Yep, no harm in doing so, little effort to make a copy and flick it to them.  Hopefully the invoice has the details of exactly what was required to make it work.

I have bought multiple parts for my project last year or so from them, easy and replied emails even swapped a guage out for another after a month.

As they local, I just pick them up, however none of these parts have been fitted yet so lets see how it goes if any problems 😉

You got fucked around like Vinny Fab did to me.

Many years ago a customers sons car left that place with 'rebuilt hubs' and new front suspension bushings, amongst a bunch of other stuff a few days before RE-Union. For whatever reason he asked me to give thier work a once over before he drove it down to Taupo.

I found a bent LH lower arm, and after wondering why there was so much bearing play with rebuilt hubs, I found both front hubs were missing the castle washers that stop the hub nuts from backing out. It was just a hex nut and split pin.

So looks like nothings changed with their quality control.

Downsizing the M/C bore to 15/16 or 7/8 will probably get you there.

Yeah just been doing some googling on the wilwood page.

the 1” bore at 7:1 gets 886psi

7/8” at 7:1 is  1167psi

volume shouldn’t be a problem.
think I’ll give it a nudge. Just spotted one on trademe the exact size I need for the same price as the front pads cost me.
worth a shot

You not running a booster?

That'll help, I've heard a few stories lately about the boosterless (is that even a word) wildwood set ups not pulling up fast enough

Yeah. I ran the Hunter booster less, I prefer the feel like my race ars were. Hunter pulled up great but was a single circuit or whatever.

this is terrible, pretty sure it’s due to having a master that’s too large.

ticked over 500km on the fresh motor. So only another 500km more break in kms to go.

going to try and get it knocked out before reunion so Jase can give it a service and tune.

Beautiful day for a drive.

punched out 285km of hassle free cruising.

Pokeno to the karapiro roundabout, past Te Poi to Matamata and back to Pokeno.

filled up at Maramaraua, to 25L and did 200km to that point, not bad.

but I noticed the fuel tank was pretty warm, so I’ll need to sort some form of heat shielding where the exhaust passes.
