Alright, questions time!

So in this they are using a Holden distributor which has an elaborate looking set to adapt it to the Nissan. I would like to use the original which has I think two optical sensors going through a disk with a whole lot of slits in it. Does this sound ok or likely to be a problem and crap out quickly?

2. They put an AU idle control valve on it. I was thinking about something that can replace the cold air bleed like this.

Which would go on the two hoses bottom right of this picIMG_20220131_142641_196.thumb.jpg.6fd16399f7439f25677b6a1635276ee3.jpg

3. Next, they put 8 ls2 coils on that one, so it's cool an all but why? Is it necessary, I don't mint just keeping the top on the dizzy and having less components in the engine bay. I see haltech sell ignition modules

https://www.haltech.com/product/ht-020002-dual-channel-oem-igniter-dumb/

I guess you can run a coil of this maybe? I don't know, or any suggestions here?

4. They use a wide band controller because it's better than O2 sensors or something, ok I guess but if so then would or be better to use the wb2 which looks like it has two sensors?  they have used a wb1 on their install that runs off the left bank by the looks of it.

So it would be pretty awesome if anyone on here could give me some advice on planning this thing out, thanks for looking.

Photos of the distributor @fletch

Has a mechanical advance at the top under the rotor which is a bit oddScreenshot_20220520-172715.thumb.png.361f64ee5608546c61222b24f4225640.pngslotted disc under that , eight holes on the inside, a heap on the outside, more than I wanted to countScreenshot_20220520-172700.thumb.png.aaf4f27f8c659ac3b2dada53a150aefa.pngsensor has rsb-06 on it which looks to be easy enough to get a replacementScreenshot_20220520-172639.thumb.png.cd83fcba1b48b471a79ee41c55452a70.pngodd rotor on top that covers the advanceScreenshot_20220520-172725.thumb.png.b2e779ae4e93bb927aa2bc01ff3517b8.png

What do you think, would it be ok to use this setup and maybe just replace the sensor?

Air temp sensor will go in where the vacumn for the idle control is currently, just ne to take the hole from 12mm up to 14mm, it's just above the throttle so should be a good spotScreenshot_20220520-172538.thumb.png.dcfecf0936c2067676e648e953dc4d3e.png

Wideband sensor will swap straight over where the current O2 sensors are, the leads to the wideband controller are 1.2m so might even chuck it behind the dashScreenshot_20220520-172549.thumb.png.7a2be4d1c0a7c3734c07644a02c0a688.png

Started marking out an adapter to put the throttle position sensor on, need to get some 6mm aluminum plate to make it upScreenshot_20220520-172449.thumb.png.8c5a029967f9b83abd48630dc8bfeafd.png

Not quite sure on where to set the sensor, I guess there should be a spot with min resistance or max resistance maybe will need to figure that one out.

Made a start on trying to sort out the wiring and software side of things, went into settings and start mashing stuff in. Have no idea here really so any advice welcome. So on this it's going to be a semi sequential type of deal as there are only 4 injector drives, not sure if I should put in as a 4 cylinder at half the engine size, but for now it let me put in 8. Also, I am wondering if the injectors will get wired across the block (1 and 2 together) or by firing order (1 and 8 together)?

Trigger section, yeah, no idea. Left it as is for now.

Fuel, set it as semi sequential. Will use the map sensor in the ecu.

And ignition, distributor

With that in it gives a list of which wires do what.

So yeah, it's a start, I guess.

Decided to mount ECU in the engine bay, have put it on the front right by the radiator. Fuse/relay box on top, ECU and wideband controller are underneath.

Having this sorted let's me know how long the wires need to be, so I guess I can chug away at that next.

Slow and steady, have run wires for air temp, coolant temp, throttle position, idle air valve and made a start on the power supply for the injectors.IMG_20230701_164708_HDR.thumb.jpg.dd0962c35afd30efb4583602f8dc7909.jpg

Made a mistake on the first plug by not feeding the wires through first, will have to order a new one. For the injectors I have four outputs on this ECU, any thoughts on how to set this up? I'm thinking of dividing them up by firing order, so 1 and 8 on the first wire, 4 and 3 on the next and so on

Firing order 18436572
