Kimjon
I brought a battery for a vespa, had it couriered to me (due to lockdown) and it arrived dry, no acid. Says to use dilute sulfuric acid with specific gravity of xxxx??? (can't remember). Repco/supercheap don't sell it. Google comes up with 20L containers but fuck all else. Help? tortron
They are supposed to send the little pack of acid with it? It's a pain to buy now cos of druggos. Bike shop will probably have the packs 1
tortron
If you get real caught out you can mix up some Epsom salts for it, but it's not ideal
kws
Do you have a local battery supplier? They might have something that would work 1
Corbie
yea, should ship with the battery, pretty much impossible to buy for the Gen Public now. might need to talk to a friendly motorbike shop? or get in touch with the seller? shipping acid is a PITA too. Kimjon
I contacted seller...they were no help. I brought (new) off trademe and hiding in the text of the add was some small print about some batteries coming without acid. FML Might try tipping some out of an old car battery. Kimjon
I embarrass myself somedays: But it works... I'll try an auto electrician when we get out of lockdown. Hopefully covid doesn't make it into the gangs, or other people who give zero fucks, otherwise this could go on forever...

flyingbrick
Pretty sure I have five liters of stuff sitting at work @Kimjon I'll grab it when I go in next. Just 90% or something so will need to figure out dilution.
tortron
Battery hydrometer
Kimjon
@flyingbrickfuck yeah, that would be awesome!! I only need a tiny bit to fill motorcycle battery. Dilution is specific gravity of 1:240 for climates that exceed 25°c and 1:260 for colder. I can order a hydrometer.

ThePog
I have sufficient 98% phosphoric to do a few bods. I actually need to get rid of it without letting it get into the hands of the cookers. Edit; and sulphuric too...
