Yeah would not be using aliex injectors. I really only need 45mm throttle plates, as the xf manifold has a thin seperate section with the injectors in it so i could make an adaptor plate up between injector section and whatever ends up supplying the butterflies. 

Picture 6 small SU carbs with no innards. But bugger balancing 6 links.

This is the injector plate for the efi  falcon manifold. Looks easy enough to make an adaptor plate for, but what should i adapt?

As a bare throttle body Jenvey recommended 45mm, so i am thinking something with a bore of 42 to 45mm should be sweet.

 

Or i can take the sensible route and just buy a triple dcoe manifold as they are still available.

Will be a long way off either yet.

I can't remember if you've mentioned it or not, but the Iron head on the XC has a different intake to the alloy, has a water outlet under number 2 intake port. 
I bolted an alloy head on an iron head once, I was told it wouldn't work (it did, but the locating dowels needed to be be binned ..none in the block on XC) I didn't use this engine for long, but it was a good combo of pre pollution cam, probably higher compression with the mix n match.. but smoked and burned oil.. was one of the most powerful stock crossflows i ever had though.

That is correct @deankdx, i have a complete xf efi engine with E2 head sittingnin the back shed. Will get a swap done on the heads one day but panelwork is more important at the moment. Can't hurt looking into morr options in the meantime though.

The E2 chambers and the chambers on the ironhead will be near enough the same cc once i give it a massage with the grinder and get it skimmed.

Well shit. Took the alloy driveshaft into work today to split the flange and yoke for painting and polishing, and noticed this once it was all apart.

Seems it has corroded from the inside out. Have never seen it happen before.

The guy i bought it from has been real good, i need to measure it up then he will track down another one. Good to know there are still good bastards out there.

space to the shock tower is restrictive, use the EFI bananas and mount carbs above the rocker cover in place of the plenum?(might not fit under the bonnet and hot side intake not ideal.
