Hey I've been send a few files to the laser cutters lately and they are struggling to see the part or open then. Is there someone he I could send a file to, then we can see if you can read it or I've farked something up.

Been using DWG, DXF formats.

Cheers rusty.

Pretty sure you can download DWG Trueview for free from Autodesk as well.

Or solidworks eDrawings.

I often use them for checking that my DXF/DWG's are the correct part, or have the correct holes/folds etc in the file before it goes out.

Do you have splines in the drawings by any chance?

Never chased it far but found the splines output to dxf by fusion don't show up on our WJ software and need to be cleaned up in other software before they can be converted into a toolpath.

Something to be careful with as the operator might need to spend time at your cost to clean up the dxf suitable for the machine.

Can you use sharper scissors? The edges might be a bit fluffy.

When I post my cad designs to the cutting service I also pay lots of attention to where I fold the design. Like don't fold the cardboard up through holes etc - they hate that.
