This seems to be the only way I can mount the carb, the early oil tank won't work with this frame, that oil tank on the bike hardly fits in because of the gearbox adjuster, with the carb at this angle I can fit the oil bath filter.

Putting the carb on an angel was a stupid idea. I realisedthe oil tank I have is a Featherbed tank with a tab welded on to fit a Gardengate frame, it dosnt fit properly and clashed with the gearbox top mount. A friend of mine is giving me an early rigid frame tank witch will look better to.

I found another WD Big 4 engine, it has the tappits and valve lifter I was missing, also the cam pinion is better than the one I have. Much to my surprise and glee this engine doesn't have lipped roller main bearings, they are about $400 a bearing, this just has ball race bearings.

Ball bearings will be fine as mains. I'd use C3 though. Where did you price the lipped rollers ? I bought a pair locally recently about $290 for the pair. Imperial sizing of course. They looked at their records and said I'd had them before. This time they are for a AJS Stormer twostroke. First time was for a 500cc Rudge special. Same bearing.

Both the big 4 engines have ball race bearings from factory, they can stay that way. When the waka taniwha had its 2nd blow up the maines needed to be replaced and they were over $600

Not super horrible, a new big end and mains should see the bottom end done, I may reuse that old piston. People reckon I should press the cams off the shafts and swap them over but then the ramps are on the other sides of the lobes.

Gearbox is apart and I need a new 2nd M/S gear, I found a new 1st, I got given most of a clutch and a kick start leaver
