markw
I'm looking at buying a set of extractors from a low-volume fabricator in Australia, but I have no steer on what extractors are generally worth. They are coming out at around $600. Can somebody tell me if this is in the ballpark of reasonable?

JoKer
hah nah I'm just being an ass & hopefully pasted some research to help OP's dilema 600 seems steepunless they are asomething superduper?
Yowzer
600 sounds pretty reasonable for a small production. How many hours would it take you to whip up some decent headers? MRP headers for example are about $1k. Sure they're at the higher end of the scale but their 4AGE headers looks a lot better than those Coby ones. 2

Yowzer
Oh yeah, there's a massive price variance and for $600 you'd expect them to be decent.
Roman
Sub $500 if you want some crush bent unequal length garbage. Get what you pay for, up to a point! I'd expect to pay a grand or more for a decent set if you're trying to get 9/10ths out of something. Just dont end up paying $1000 for Coby stuff haha. If the $600 ones are nicely made and the person can show an example of existing work and they look good. Seems more than a fair price. 2
markw
They're for a Fiat 124 Sport, and they have a good reputation. Thanks folks, looks like they are in the ballpark.
azzurro
Fiat factory manifold already flows pretty good? Port matching the manifold to the head and a better flowing (ie slightly bigger) exhaust can do a lot to open her up. Extractors look blooming cool tho!
