Kimjon
Okay, slight u-turn... Some v-twin Japanese nostalgia to add to the collection. Tho the cunt who sold it to me did a runner with a box containing the wiring loom, headlight and a heap of good stuff promised in the sale. Long story, but just yet another sad reminder that in life you're going end up doing business with a cunt every now and then. Anyway, the bike has good bones. I have steel, a grinder and a welder, plus about 100hrs this week alone of watching YouTube on cafe racers...so let's get past that small hurdle and start planning a cool build. No time frames, no budget (As in zero).
Kimjon
Its growing on me, its actually a very solid bike under the 20 layers of rattle can paint jobs hiding its past, like an old hooker smeared in makeup and cheap perfume. I bobbed the tail to tidy it up, looks much better already. All I did was unbolt shit. Then added some bar end mirrors i had left over from projects past. Today I purchased a motorcycle dolly, because I've always wanted one. I'm not sure why, as apparently motorcycles come with their own wheels and aren't that hard to shift on your own...who knew?? But hey, I achieved a life goal of owning a motorcycle dolly, so I'm still calling it a win!!

Popular Post Kimjon
I tried to bring it inside, just so I could stare at its beauty...but this was as far as I got before being blocked by my wife with an utter look of disbelief. So - 'If the mountain will not come to Muhammad, then Muhammad must go to the mountain'...so I rolled off the couch and laid on the floor just so I could admire it from a distance. 8

Kimjon
The wiring has been spliced into to add a heap of accessories like radar detection, phone charger and who knows what else. They were a real mixed bag of quality or not, the usual stuff with something 20 years old. So I went through it all and deleted all the bullshit. This is most of the shit I took out^^^ there were a few other random bits and bobs. Nice and clean, no shit dangling down now. I also undid the clutch and re routed the cable so it wasn't trying to rip the wiring loom out of its socket at full lock. It must have been replaced at some stage and installed incorrectly. I took the opportunity to grease all the friction surfaces and its sooooo butter smooth now. Worth doing it just for that reason alone. Then I deleted the rear passenger pegs. Chances of me picking up a hot chick are lotto odds, so may as well just get rid of them now, as they ruin the nice clean lines of the bike. I went through everything and tidied things as I could...all up, looking pretty clean now. stoked!!

As you can imagine my enthusiasm for that bike just isn't there anymore. I'm parking it in the naughty corner until I decide what to do with it?? I never thought I'd ever get a Buell (my childhood dream bike), but I sold a shitload of stuff on trademe to free up funds and grabbed this one. I have a feeling they've bottomed out price wise and will start going up in value. There's only 28 (my make, model and year) of these in NZ. They were extortionate price wise when new, one of the most expensive bikes in the sports bike class - you basically had to be a drug dealer or gang boss to afford one when new. I'm so fucking happy with it. No oil leaks to be found, nor any sign its ever leaked in its near 20 year lifetime, everything is spotless. Ive got 15 years of service records and the owner changed the oil and filters every 1000km...not sure why? But I'm glad he did. I took it for its nightly blat up the road, where I put it in 3rd by hand as my leg doesn't work atm, start off in that gear 0 to XXXkph at 6000rpm then clutch in, turn around and repeat home...fuck its fast!!! I love its torque, so beautifully predictable and just keeps pulling hard!!
tortron
I change my GN oil and filter ever 1000km because I buy a big bot of oil and 50 filters at a time so it works out like $3 per oil change Also I max nang it and blow it up as much as possible, so there is that 1
