Kimjon Posted October 15, 2025 Author Posted October 15, 2025 I made up this fuel tank for the Dax 2.0. It's a fire extinguisher, I machined up 3x 1/4" fittings on the lathe and welded them carefully in place. Then a mounting tab to secure it inside the frame. The filler neck will be threaded internally and exit near the neck of the frame. 3 Quote
Kimjon Posted October 15, 2025 Author Posted October 15, 2025 The fittings accept these 1/4" elbows, so I could install a sight glass fuel guage. 3 Quote
Kimjon Posted October 15, 2025 Author Posted October 15, 2025 The tank is located high in the frame, so it can feed the carb. Im really happy with how it's turned out. 7 Quote
Kimjon Posted October 17, 2025 Author Posted October 17, 2025 I made a sheetmetal cover, to hide the gaping hole in the frame. 2 Quote

anglia4 Posted October 17, 2025 Posted October 17, 2025 This is coming together very cool. What is the little green tank for? 1 Quote

I was going to hide the electrics in there. It was mostly to balance the gap, and mimic the look of an oil tank on a harley. It may not be required, time will tell. 1 Quote
Kimjon Posted October 18, 2025 Author Posted October 18, 2025 Speedo mount. Ill use a black faced guage (this one is just a left over from another project). 1 Quote
Kimjon Posted October 18, 2025 Author Posted October 18, 2025 And a baby kickstand in construction. I need the rear rim before I can finalise it. 1 Quote
Kimjon Posted October 20, 2025 Author Posted October 20, 2025 I decided it wasn't in love with the bobber seat on this bike, as it took away from the straight backbone too much. I was real happy with the seat, just not on this project. also, the handlebars were annoying me. I made T bars, then upon realising jyst how small this bike is - I bent them in many different directions trying to buy more real estate on the seating position. It was okay...but kinda lost its way a little. So I started again, and I'm glad I did. This look is starting to grow on me. So a gentle pivot in design and off we go again. Quote
