Kimjon Posted October 1, 2025 Author Posted October 1, 2025 Decided to make a fender, inspiration comes from the Japanese skinny choppers that in my opinion are the ducks nuts. 2 Quote
Kimjon Posted October 1, 2025 Author Posted October 1, 2025 Slowly taking shape. Fuckloads to do...but the vision is there. 5 Quote
Kimjon Posted October 2, 2025 Author Posted October 2, 2025 Pretty sweet. Im happy with this over engineered part...snaps fingers and boom...2 axle plates! Quote
Kimjon Posted October 2, 2025 Author Posted October 2, 2025 Held together by magnets and prayers. But its taking shape. 1 Quote
Kimjon Posted October 3, 2025 Author Posted October 3, 2025 Adding in some extra support, to reduce the cantilever on the lower arms if the hardtail. My bramley tube bender can only do things wall tube, so I'm using 1.6mm wall 25mm OD furniture tubing. Its a bit thin for long spans, so adding a seat post like a harley frame effectively triangulates the rear, shortening the moment. The top will get tied into the frame too. Quote
Kimjon Posted October 3, 2025 Author Posted October 3, 2025 Small steps... Waiting on wheels and tyres. I think ive fucked up the order on my rear rim, which I suspect won't be wide enough to take the more chonky tyre ive also ordered. Im a bit gutted about the rim, as that would have been a bit step forwards. But no problems just solutions... I'll find something that works. 2 Quote
Kimjon Posted October 4, 2025 Author Posted October 4, 2025 Went full retard on these foot pegs and brake pedal etc today. Kinda lost the plot putting this amount of effort into something like this...but here we are. 1 Quote
Kimjon Posted October 5, 2025 Author Posted October 5, 2025 I made up a gig, tacked it all together after lots of fucking around, measuring again and again. I don't have the rear wheel yet, so used math to determine interferences etc. I fucking hope my math is good... Quote
Kimjon Posted October 5, 2025 Author Posted October 5, 2025 I stole the wheel off the white Dax so I could set it up and roll it around. The actual wheel will be slightly fatter and taller again, but this will do for mock ups. 3 Quote
Kimjon Posted October 6, 2025 Author Posted October 6, 2025 Made this exhaust. Twin pipes out of a single cylinder. That's how to complicate a simple problem. 4 Quote
Kimjon Posted October 8, 2025 Author Posted October 8, 2025 Kinda went too big on the rear. Ill split the difference between tyres, probably go 120/90 r10. As this 130/90 r10 is too wide and will cause chain clearance issues and too tall to fit fenders. 3 Quote
Kimjon Posted October 11, 2025 Author Posted October 11, 2025 I shaved the front legs. In true chopper style, I won't be running a front fender, or front brakes. Â 1 Quote
Kimjon Posted October 11, 2025 Author Posted October 11, 2025 Wheel spacers, and axle/bearing reducers 15mm-12mm made. Front wheel all centred and locked in. Â 3 Quote
Kimjon Posted October 12, 2025 Author Posted October 12, 2025 Im not a huge fan of sissy bars to be honest. But it was the easy way out in this situation. Performing multiple tasks and it doesn't get much easier to make than this. I kept it medium/low to try balance the front proportions wise. Im happy, it holds my fender on, license plate, and stop light. Calling it a win 1 Quote
Kimjon Posted October 12, 2025 Author Posted October 12, 2025 And I made yet another fender from scratch, as my first one is too small for this size tyre. "Stop - hammer time..." 1 Quote
