I was surprised at how much sand got in the carb of my crapscooter at 18 escapade after some skiddys on the beach, with one of those foam filtersĀ

not oily enough. Redirect your crank case breather to constantly top it up

Unbridled creativity

That sounds super, I don't know if @ShakotomĀ was up for doing anything or just being peer pressured.

I'm quite happy either way, I don't know how much lead time sticker printers need on this kind of thing? Its possible we're too late already, any idea @TruenotchĀ @Archetype

The one bike with a foam pod definitely ran worse once soaked.

Would these have been with filters properly oiled?

I've just upgraded to a UNI foam filter from a tea strainer gauze.

Was a well oiled uni filter today. But it was pouring where we were.Ā

Uni filters are definitely better at keeping out dust. Cheap Trademe type ones donā€™t hold much back.Ā

I rode it for about half a day in decent rain on another ride we did and it was all good, gave it death and it didnā€™t explodeĀ

job tidy. Ā
Ā

plus a little bit of moisture shouldnā€™t matter too much - dropping it in a river while itā€™s running is another story however

Even those cheap TM ones need oil, otherwise they are pretty much only stopping rocks and cats from being sucked in.

Chainsaw bar oil is a cheap/half assed alternative to proper filter oil, it's got additives to make it sticky etc.

GN filter recommends engine oil

Ā

Video of last year's rain plz
