yetchh
Hi, discovered an issue with my surf auto. Generally when cold autos will shift slow until they warm up but in my truck (and this only happens every now and then) when I turn the truck off in gear and leave it a while it feels like I've got the hand brake on when I use it next. This only happens for a short time then it's back to normal. Anyone got an idea as to why this happens? I'm more curious than anything else, did it the missus yesterday after I shifted the truck and left it in reverse..

AllTorque
Put it in park when you park. Problem solved. When was the last time the fluid and filter was changed?
yetchh
It's due a service now, just curious as to what would cause that problem.. Is it something to do with leaving the clutch packs under pressure vs releasing then when in Park, then the engine has to overcome that tension? Or something like that.. Won't be leaving it in gear anymore anyway.. Want to get another 300k out of her
AllTorque
My guess would be a stuck solenoid and when it won’t move two gears are engaged.
