My plan is to hang it off the ceiling anyway but I do like me a 30's Flying Boat. Maybe get a 5A at a later date & build a Black Cat.... 3 Quote

The curse of the ICM kit I reckon. A little bit more tweaking and it'll be there. I might have to do a little diorama with some old crap lying around for the full effect. Anyway, a couple of pics Some of it I'm really pleased with, some not so much. Practice makes perfect. Guess I'll just pile the crap against the bits I'm not so keen on. Chur. 22 Quote

Can you simulate dents like you'd get on a working truck? I'm imagining using heat to create a lifelike fold in panels/bent grills etc. But sounds risky/easy to fuck up... 1 Quote

I should have done just that, but I bottled it. It basically involves either heat, (which is as you rightly say risky ) or removing the areas to be damaged & replacing with thin foil which acts & reacts more like metal. Also, sanding the plastic so it's paper thin gives a bit of flexibility but again, the potential to bolloks it all up is there. I have chosen my next victim & will be attempting to go full decay on it. It's a kit I've had for maybe 35 years but never got round to it. It's 1/24th scale too so I'm hopefully lowering my chances of getting chucked off this thread. 6 1 Quote

My truck never saw conflict, but it helped build the Alaska Highway & then spent 30 or 40 years as a county truck and yet only really has damage along the sides & floor of the tipper body and a bent bumper. It wasn't pretty, but it wasn't fucked either. /pic 11 1 Quote
CarolsHusband Posted February 28, 2025 Posted February 28, 2025 Okidoki. Commencement of the 1/24th-ness Also, the dogs kicked off about an hour ago, went out to the gate and the PBY had landed. According to the delivery text it was " In the front porch"... To answer @Alfashark, yes, it comes with beaching gear, but I haven't got the space to have it beached. pic. It's a big bastard. 500 cc Coke bottle 4 scale. Nice. 5 1 Quote
