Popular Post Flash Posted June 2 Author Popular Post Posted June 2 Yikes, almost two months since my last van related update. Time sure does fly. Although we are still donkey deep in house related projects, in the background I've been steadily gathering a number of bits and pieces for a future round of additional van enhancements. Apart from hunting and gathering not much else has happened van wise but for a good deal of extra trouble free travelling. On one trip we headed two hours from home to pickup a concrete water feature. Old mate at the shop used a forklift to load the thing into the back of the van. Numpty me hadn't realised how heavy this thing was going to be. Anyway despite the heavy load the old Thames performed like a champ on the way home. I did end up with a bit of rub on the outer side walls of the back tires, but nothing too serious. On the way back we stopped at Maccas for lunch and I took a quick photo of the new stance. I could get used to that look, so maybe a bit more low is on the cards sometime in the future. The only other urgent item that has recently come up was an irritating whine from the a/c idler pulley. A bit gutting as I replaced that pulley less than 6000km ago. Even although we run the a/c almost constantly here in the tropics I was still expecting more life out of the Dayco, so decided to switch brands when sourcing the replacement. This time I've gone for a Gates branded pulley that looks like so: Quickly slapped it in this morning and the whine has gone, so I'll take the win. With a bit of luck I'll be able to kick off the next round of van enhancements in the not too distant future, so normally programming should resume fairly shortly. Thanks for looking. 10 Quote
