For the record I restored a 68 Mustang 25 years ago, I did all the difficult to reach areas with Por15 including all the suspension components, under body etc I do recall using the metal prep liberally . I still have the car and at this point I don't have any complaints.

Warming the metal before applying it , in a bake oven or something similar to dry it out thoroughly would help surely?
