@4AGEMAD's project thread:

I highly approve of this car! Nice work.

Someone must have really loved it to justify converting it so well.

My dad's car is like a pre-facelift version of yours. This is the car that gave me my username.

Yep, it's sitting in his shed in Palmy at the mo. Needs the brake master re-kitted, but is still a mint car. He's had it since 2001 and probably won't ever sell it.

Stoaked to hear! I know of a bunch hiding away in hawkes bay actually

Looking good, I bet you'll be happy to have it legal.

Just wanted to note that a high-stop light isn't required these days, if you don't want to fit on.

Thanks man *almost legal, unfortunately my car falls under the first registered after 1990 as shes just imported. Those plates are my "spares" lol

Nah.  You'll be fine with the stop light not being put on.  It's manufactured or registered anywhere before 1990 now, not NZ specific.

Had a yarn to compliance company and because it will be registered in nz after 1990 "it technically requires one" he said.

Ive got one here so will chuck it on then it may or maynot come unstuck after compliance...

Easy enough, yeah.  Easier to not at all though.  Get old mate to check his amendments...

As of 1 December you don't need a high level stop light on pre-1990 vehicles

The Associate Minister of Transport, Hon Craig Foss

, has signed into law 13 amendment Rules that

make minor changes to existing Land Transport Rules

The changes to Vehicle Lighting 2004 ....

remove an requirement to fit high mounted stop lamps to vehicles registered or manufactured before 1 January 1990
