cubastreet
I just bought a ride on mower with a Kohler engine. It's an OHV twin cam. I assume it has two valves, so why would they put two camshafts in? Their website says better cooling, more power (600cc/16hp!) and longer life, but I can't think how this would be true. Marketing gimmick? Or is there something in it?
mjrstar
Ability to run a wider valve angle than SOHC. . In reality it probably means they can use the same cylinder head casting and exhaust /intake setup with a number of different engine capacities and hp ratings saving themselves tooling and manufacturing costs.
Muncie
Curious is this double under head cam? EG Pushrod with a cam per cylinder in the block or a cam in each head assuming its a twin.
mjrstar
16hp is probably single cylinder I would assume...
