I did put the cover back on, might regret that when I try to weld something (mower deck needs some attention)

Would anyone know a rough value on this kit? It's an ESAB LHN 130.   A sturdy unit from what I've read.

Regulator Valve and tig torch in the box but don't know what it's from.

Tidy helmet.

Belongs to a workmate, mums BF passed away and she's trying to work out what it's worth.  Not for sale at the moment but could be.

I've got one, I love it.

If I'd had twice the budget I'd have gone for the 230 with AC capabilities though lol

I did look at that idea, but the amount of time i would use it for aluminium is so minimal that i think i can just use the money saved to pay the difference.

Note, my budget is actually less, but if i am gonna pick a fight with the war office, i might as well go hard.

I've already got a fairly decent BOC AC/DC tig, so trying to justify dropping almost $4k on something that does the same shit was going to be hard to get past my accountant, let alone the Mrs haha

My budget is whatever i want. Wife disagrees.

So i am going to talk her into the 185 maxpulse, then go, oh shit it needs 400 bucks of tig leads.

But wait, the next model up comes with tig set for only $130 more.

That is some of the most solid man math ever. Of course you'd go for the higher spec model for those savings!

Brilliant eh.

Convo actually went...

Me. I want to do something selfish.

Wife. Like what.

Me. Buy a new welder for 1600ish and import the rust repair panels for the car while we have the injury insurance cash.

Wife. Oh so you want to do that and buy another motorbike. And use up all the money.

Me. Actually i think i will just ride the gsxr around a bit once it is done and then go get my full. Instead of getting a legal bike for my restricted for a couple of months.

Wife. I thought you were going to do that like normal anyway.

Me. No, i was going to be a responsible adult and stick to a learner/restricted legal bike.

Wife. HAHHAHHAHAHHAHHAHAHAHBAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHA

And she kept laughing and never said no to welder. So i guess i will see who has the best deal going and order one before she brings the topic up again.

Patrick was good to deal with but he moved back over to hawkes bay. The 2 women who they have at the counter clearly want to be anywhere else but there.

I was in there this morning looking at the stock at and asked for a price on the welder while standing at the counter, she came around to my side of the counter and gave me a couple of fliers.

If i wanted to pay retail i would buy it online ffs.

Last week i gave the mrs a list of stainless capscrews etc to get, she gave the list to the people. Proudly came home with a bag of black and zinc shit, when i went in myself the next day and asked if they had started knockoff drinks a bit early the day before because the list had stainless written in big letters at the top, they didn't give a shit.

Yeap, I had the price of the Envy 230 I've been drooling over in my head rather than the Razorweld 230.

@Bearded Baldy find the lowest price online that you can then attempt to get Tradezone to beat it, I managed to get 10% off the price that Welding Technology was showing for the 195 from Tradezone here, then 2 days later WT put it up $180 and apologised about advertising it for the special price of the next model down.

These go on special fairly often, add a $7 plug from AliExpress and they work sweet on the Xcel-Arc.

My workmate bought the unimig razor 230 acdc multi welder from boc about a month ago. He hustled it down to about $2800, as they are phasing them out for the new envy welders. It's a wicked welder and easy as to setup. Can also run 15a or 10a plug (if you get a reducer cable) and it has an internal setting depending on it, I'd assume it just limits it's capabilities running 10a.

I thought Xcel arc and Unimig were the same thing?

Yes but no.

Pretty much sister companies selling 90% the same range but with different product names etc.

Xcel-Arc is owned by Esseti NZ and Unimig is Welding Guns Australia.

Unimig is just starting to make a comeback in NZ, Machinery House and BOC stock them.

Yeah ordered one today. Taupo tradezone can get fucked for anything other than machine screws from now on.

Neighbour told me he was heading to palmy on the weekend so i rang tradezone there, 'yeah mate nationwide sale on at the moment for that model, your local guys should be able to sort you out'

Yeah nah they don't want to make a sale, told me full retail was the price'

'Aye? Its a nationwide thing!'

So in the end i got the multi195 kit, roll of 0.6 wire and a 0.8/0.6 drive roller for less than the local guys would sell the main bit for. In fact even with freight it would be cheaper.

Guess i really have to put bike together and tidy the shed now so i can work on the car again.
