Been looking at one of these, https://www.arcweld.co.nz/itemdetails/Hugong-Carimig-200Wd-Welder---Euro-Connect/3419.aspx

Duty cycle looks good, also 3 year warranty.

Anyone had any experience with this brand?

One of our guys in the heavy fab shop has a hugong something like that ad. He uses it for tig and stick. Usually wound right up. For hours at a time.

Has had a few minor issues. He purchased through duroweld in new plymouth.

The 3 years commercial warranty was the main selling point. Any issues he just takes it back and they have sorted it.

A lot more than you do running a tig!

If you were building a trailer from scratch get a bigger bottle,  if doing occasional odds and sods it'll last a decent length of time.

Remember to check for leaks and turn gas off at the bottle when not in use.

funny you should mention my common mistake !! went to weld up the crate on the scrub truck, and realised i done it again.

just as well the bottle was only 1/4 full, and the refill is free on the BOC Home D plan

Supplementary question - how much MIGing do you get out of a D size argoshield bottle? I see Bunnings are advertising $99 swap with $200 deposit. Picking up my new (to me) MIG in the weekend!

From memory,

D size bottle is 2m3 so 2000L, if you're running say 10 liters per minute that'll give you 200 minutes welding time. = a good length of mig weld, not so much tig.

Gross. Those are well overpriced.

$499 gets you a 150a gas/gasless Bossweld. They’re an inverter machine and come with a gas regulator. Good welder for the money:

Any recommendations on a auto helmet under $250?

Weldsafe Titanium. 4 sensors, tig capable, 98x87 viewing area, replaceable batteries, all the adjustments, good headgear, cheap replacement lens covers.

Moortool have them on special for $139. Most others will be $200 or so.
