WAGNATS 2019 FEB 5TH - 10TH

Recommended Posts

Hey. Since I have my V8 Avenger wagon now, I have always wanted to come along to one of these. I'm going to Leadfoot the weekend before so I don't think I could get much time off but can you just cruise down for the weekend? Like maybe rock up on the Friday?

My Avenger has this sweet bed mode that I have been dying to try out.

Any one heading to wagnats from Tauranga or Auckland? @MopedNZ has a motorbike wheel in tga I need to get down for my new build. He’s heading to Auckland last weekend of jan so could potentially drop it off to someone there, halp pls

I'm going to be driving down from Auckland, so if you can get it to Auckland then I can take it in my wagon.

Just roll up, be self sufficient and be prepared to take away anything you bring with you.

We try to avoid bottles for the fact it can be a PITA if someone breaks a bottle in the middle of the campsite as we walk around like hippies with bare feet most of the time.

British wagons are especially well regarded too.

Sweet. Just planning my leave from work. I can get Waitangi day onwards off. So I will cruise down on the Wednesday. It's quite a drive for Auckland, so on the Sunday, do you guys usually pack up early to go home? or shall I stay another night somewhere down there and cruise up on Monday? I would like to stay and help with the cleanup is all.

Man, it's going to be a busy few weeks for my wagon, Kumeu in a a week, then I'm showing it at 4nR, then leadfoot, then this :)

There is not really a cleanup as such like other OS events as its all take away what ya bring. We will be leaving early Sunday morning to drive back to Christchurch

wagnats is great! and it's a decent hike from Auckland but doable :) especially if you stop for a swim in Taupo on the way :D

Leaving Auckland Wednesday morning for me (and @sentra probably same time?)
Not 100% sure if Lexy is coming with me yet. She wants to, but we're moving to Taupo next week and she's looking for a job etc so will depend on if she's got a job yet or not. I think she'll come for the weekend at least though if she cant come the whole time.

If all you guys are going coming down from Auckland on Wednesday, do you want to convoy down? I will be leaving in the morning, getting down there in the afternoon.

Yeah, that works. For some reason it always ends up taking me and dave 9 hours to do a 6 hour trip though, so be warned! though i wont be towing a teardrop from Auckland to Taupo, so that will speed it up a touch.

will revisit this in the days leading up to wagnats as my brain is not focusing on wagnats yet (though it sure is looking forward to it!)
