Thphantum
So how many bikes are going this year? Is one support ute enough?
RUNAMUCK
Maybe I should treat myself to a replacement visor for my cheap nasty old helmet too. Full face for life. Although I wouldn't mind a piss bowl for drag racing. It gets awful hot with the windows wound up.

Providing people actually get a decent 100km or so at least on their bikes beforehand to niggle out the wiggly bits (especially the 2T crew) then it should be okay with one. What date are you back from the states?
64valiant
I had thought of asking the wife to see if she would like to come be a support driver in the Subaru. And between the amount of people coming and the small donations we could possibly afford two recovery vehicles. Subaru gets a solid 600 odd kms to a tank at 130 dollars.
Tumeke
re: sandblasting (sorry started replying and actually had to do some work so now way off topic) Take it somewhere good for Sandblasting like Chris did. My personal sandblasting stuff wouldn't cut the mustard - way too weak / slow / shit. All my chrome came off mine too, they managed to do inside the frame etc and it was a pretty quick process. Advice is to get some primer on it pretty quick though so it doesn't surface rust - or powdercoat etc.
Mop Head
Let’s just not break down and then fill the trailer with ice and beers. Sorted. Edit: inb4 u crashed last year huhuhu. 1
Vintage Grumble
It's a tough one, we could be looking at 25+ bikes this year, and only vehicle room for 2-3 people (not counting bike doubling) but two cars might just add to the complication? One car with big ass trailer might be best option? Hopefully worse case scenario, there are more broken bikes than broken people who can't double.

Vintage Grumble
With everyone carrying more of their own shit, and a bigger car/Ute/trailer I'm sure we will be fine.

I will catch up with you in the next few days and discuss. Would prob be ute and trailer if needed. Can carry gas, food, luggage etc and maybe throw in a bbq for grazing.

64valiant
yea i read that. plus his plus one for the roady be 3 seats like last year. But as others have stated double the numbers so just voicing it and putting it out there. Yea hopefully nothing breaks down/crash and the rest but if anyone had a larger van with more seats it would be better, would rather cater for more and not use the space than if some one did have a bigger vehicle we could have used it and we didn't ask and did need it ordeal. better to be safe than sorry. Popular Post BLIZZO
Remembering that this year if shits gunna break its going to break on the first day, as thats when mechanical weakness will let go as its first big stretch / roughest road and also the most "difficult" terrain to ride. the benefit of doing the trip in the opposite direction this year is we will have gisborne / raizers workshop to fix non terminal issues so i think one should be enough. just dont do a @MopedNZ or @Shakotom and crash, dont do @64vauxhall and bring a pile of crap that had not run properly ever, dont do a @doozi and bring no spare tubes, or a @blizzo and bring a bike that has a tank full of rust that just blocks fuel filters. tick all that shit off and you should be sweet 5 1
Chris.QCR
Yeah all of that. Shakedown runs are essential before a decent Journey. If you have enough support space for each rider then laziness will occur and no one will prep thier bikes before the ride and all end up on the trailer.

64valiant
it only pulled the top off the side off from memory? just from hanging the bag off wasnt it? swapa crates perfect for housing as no strain on little nails
