datlow
Also as it’s not very busy at work/too windy to do actual work I’ve taken the cub in fitted slotted brake pads from webike and new wheel bearings in the rear fired it up for some motovation hopefully do the front end this week and try and get the lights/indicators working
datlow
New rear Tyre sure does feel clunky/notchy when it’s rubbing my butt did some hitting and bending got a longer chain and thinking I’ll order some longer shocks (325mm firm vs current 300mm floppy boys) 5 days to go (and I’m working 4 of them....)
datlow
Longer chain caused it to foul on the mud guard so ripped that of and still lots of rubbing, hopefully shocks arrive tuesday Mostly wired up the cub today fitted a cheap old Stanley spotlight and cut the fairing to suit low bars maybe I should order some adventure tyres for it just in case
datlow
Was only getting 3-9V, messaged @Raizer and he figured out I needed to earth the stator, now it’s 6-13v A+messenger fault finding Took the cub round the block, melted the fairing pretty good (need to bolt it in I guess) wants to pop wheelies in first A+ half way round it started chocking and I saw the filter wasn’t on right, tried to mcgyver it with the key as had no tools, until I remembered the factory tool set! idled it home and took a few attempts of carb cleaning and swearing to sort it made it all legit with a speedo.... great idea @Truenotch still didn’t sort any tyres-might try and same day some tomorrow

Also whats the go with earthing the stator? Iv got the same issue of low voltage output In reply to your text, for the life of me, I cant remember what I did to get mine to work sorry. It wont light the std headlight at idle, but comes on when you give it a bit of a rev. The stator is friggen tiny in the 155z, so guess it just cant pump out the juice at idle? datlow
Yeah been looking at ali flywheels etc, crank only seems to come complete with bearings and conrod so bit spendy140-160 the ali loom I bought had a bunch of green wires just chopped one of them and fitted a round lug to earth on a bolt (I had assumed it was earthed internally and all the ones sticking out were for accessory’s) and yeah google seems to say they’re like A 55w ?stator so my 50w halogen headlight + other lights wasn’t gonna work found a led bulb replacement so will try that and see

datlow
yeah not sure this was more the cdi side I guess
datlow
Maybe the pitbike loom just has the engine earth straight to the cdi and coil cause they don’t need no lights, so try earthing that to the frame but yeah I also have one of the yellows to earth cause none of my lights have a return wire so like this

datlow
Trailtech, thinking about going to dc rectifier and getting a battery/capacitor tho cause it’s pretty shit as is and indicators aren’t up to much at idle 1

datlow
stripped rear shocks removed rust and painted black, grinder might have slipped and cut the springs (weirdly the flats are at the plastic end and 21mm unlike all the YouTube vids) installed front guard fitted oil cooler (do they get hot enough to melt plastic??) installed air filter, which seems to have stuffed the jetting so will have to tinker with that again removed shit/broken og plate holder and made a side mount 7
