Is there any way that you could swap out the pipes for oval section and run them straight along under the arms? Not knowing what the setup looks like so this is just an idea.

This is the standard exhaust system of a V12 car (straight six looks to be the same from the transmission back):

Here's what I think you're proposing. Sorry the image is so small. Perhaps this arrangement might not sacrifice too much ground clearance, and might flow better and keep the brakes cooler than the stock system.

Looking at the first image, a side exit exhaust would want to pass right over the suspension mounting point where the hoist pad is supporting the car.

Mate, a straight pipe and a couple of Cobys exiting through the sill and shit will be cash.

Also you can run the pipes under the subframe and mount the mufflers in the rear guards if you want ground clearance.

Yeah that above pic was what I was thinking but with oval section tubes under the lowest suspension point. 

Straight through pipes as kk suggested would sound sweet. 

Then convert to manual box.
