Too many strokes, Raizer builds a wheely hack

Might need to do a bit more to the carb tuning and possibly the front brake or something first...

Went for a ride this evening and took a few pics

Was going ok, jetting seems pretty close etc.

After taking the last pic I was coming down the hill, 1st wheelie, 2nd wheelie, slow change to 3rd, 45k on Speedo, opened the throttle wide then it was like hitting a wall and the world spun around on me

Front wheel locked up solid and the scooter instantly flipped on me, happened fast but I think my head, gloveless hands and left shoulder took the brunt of the impact, bike landed hard on my back.

Pretty sure nothing is broken, but both hands, shoulder, knee, ankle and basically whole left side are fucking sore.

Apparently I'm confined to couch rest and am not allowed to go and pull the front end apart right now, but yeah something has locked the front wheel solid.

Brake lever is snapped, indicator lense is smashed and there is a bit of road rash etc here and there.

All in all I'm thinking I came out lucky.

Get yourself in for x rays on your hands and get a acc claim in if you haven't already. Got a chunk of bone floating around in my little finger from when i took a tumble back in February. Cant do bugger all about it now.

as mentioned on FB, glad you are okay man. Also glad ya weren't doing 100+

That photo of the brake shoes should be a good lesson for all of us- these parts are old and definitely not made for the heat and abuse they now see.

Also shows how valuable safety gear is. So many people will rip round with just shorts on because its just a scooter- that ain't cool.

I'm glad you're ok.

I'm glad you're buying a wide band.

I'm glad you still like two strokes.

I was just saying to a mate the other day (whom I talked into buying a CT90) that it's a pity you can't get 2Ts that have the same bolt up as all these other motors.

I joked about putting the RD350 motor in my NBC, but that would equal instant death.

New shoes, brake lever, hit the bars with an axe till they were close enough for now and it was time to take it around the block and bed the brake in.

Somehow ended up around the coast a bit in torrential rain and massive side winds ha

Turns out I bent one of the rear shocks the other day, so it's now semi hardtail lol

New brakes suck compared to the OS 1972 shoes lol.
