hey man, I made a new handbrake cable holder thingy for my escort. First I tried making one out of a thick bit of rubber, but if fell apart quick as the rubber wasn't flexible enough, so new one is made from 3 or 4 layers or thin rubber, Its been on the car for a few years now and its sweet as. Got the rubber from para rubber from memory

These guys sell 'handbrake bias straps' apparently www.mk1cortina.co.uk . . . you just need to pay a 45 GBP membership before you can make an order :study:

I'm actually trying to find one more wheel, as I currently have 7 of them but would like a spare set just encase they come back wonky from being widened or the WOF man doesn't like the stretch .  Small ford spares are bloody hard to find these days!

Anyone want to sell a type 9 gearbox?

have enough bits kicking around to put together another powerglide

OK that's a good to know UJ, Will have a lookey. Every bike I own is lined with Por15 to stop junk in my carb. One tank it bridged huge holes and is still going strong 5 plus years later.

Will order a new filler pipe thru GC @66gt anyways as its looking a bit perished when I gave it a prod.

Will probably use this pair on the front and get the other pair welded a little wider on the rear

This engine is not actually for the cortina***

I was walking to work this morning and saw a cool bike, thought....thats a cool bike. Went on oldschool, looked at cool Mk1 wagon, then saw your bike and it was the same one, exciting times.

Also, do you need a diff head? Think I have one, which came with my house.

Oh funny what are the chances!

I'm giving it a little run down before mancamp in two weeks time.  Normally park this heap of junk VvVvV the block over on Featherston Street

Keen on spare diff! Might even be a better ratio / leak less than current one.  The Cortina has oil leaks coming from areas i didn't even think oil could come from, rust protection at-least.

Yep, that's the one I was walking from the train station.

I haven't worked out the ratio (should there be any markings?), didn't see any damage. I'm sure it must be an escort diff, the previous house owner had one and there was a mk1 escort grill too (gave to my dad).

Has just been sitting for years, so if you want it I wouldn't say no to some beer.

I'll get a photo tonight.
