I wonder if it would fit a 1985 Johnno?

There's quite a few bucks in the new lower unit gears and rebuilt tilt ram.

Pretty sure yours will be a cross flow, you would probably need the adapter for the midsection from a looper and the pan and cowling a different as well. Is yours a 20" or 25"?

Ours is actually an 86. Its definitely a loop charger. They were the same up to 89 when they changed the crank seal. Ours is a small bore motor. 2.7 litre. Fuck it was a thirsty whore.

Okay, I'm fully confused,  I came here to talk about Imps and some how ended up in a outboard Barry thread?

Baby 911 needs aircooling bro. No corvair engines laying about? Or a souped up vw engine!

I've checked and a corvair engine won't fit.

Neither will a Rover V8 (maybe if mid mounted and the seats move forward or front mounted and you have chinese concubine feet)

A daimler V8 engine will fit mid or rear mounted.

Not really a fan of V8 engines... certainly not after having heard the flat six :-)  Really keen on keeping the layout rear engined so long as the weight stays around the same.

The datto engine is the way of the future. I have a spare SC12 floating around if you get bored. I was going to fit it to my commer but now I have the rapier engine it doesn't need it.

I've just come to realise that Postimage has changed its domain name over from .org to .cc which has resulted in all my previous photo links not working anymore. This has affected this thread and all my others (most likely many other threads out there too )

Its like photobucket all over again!  I'd use this board to host the photos but I also post my threads up on two other forums so easiest to use a hosting site.

Bummer!

Off to bed.

The yellow ones? Yeah. A bit better but not twice the price better.

Is seems to be the crimping that fails. One a few wire strands have gone they get loose and come out easier in a progressively (?) shorter time. I reckon a cup wheel where the stands are held together by weld/bronze/solder so they just wear down rather than fly out.
