Anyways. This got a wof last week. 

Then i cut 1.5 coils out. Needs more tbh

Also fitted some 205/70/14 to the factory steelies

 

One day i might paint it.

Did this this morning at work. 

Centre bearing was noisy and loose. Hilux centre with the crown housing bolted around it. Sorted

Much quieter

When it rains my feet get wet

There is also a cold breez from under the dash whilst driving 

I thought u would investigate. So i pulled the dash out found some yucky

Then this happend

Not ideal

But a pretty good result considering its a 70s toyota.

Will be a straight forward repair

 Still on the look out for a 3.36 holden diff for this. Ht/hk/hg 

Should be corse spline but will pull an axle and check

Got the patch in welded and seam sealed up. Shouldn't leak water into the cabin now.

Most of it is covered so just flicked a bit of black on it for now

Added power steering.

Painted the tacho 

Now to get the numbers made

Got the tacho looking hot.

 

 

 

However not working so hot. I dont think its reading accurately. But i also have no way of checking that so maybe im imagining it

Dash is in. Tacho works ok. Not accurate but looks the part.

I havnt had a fan on this for a while as all my viscous are either siezed or nof doinh anything so i took it off so it didnt sound like a van

Carfully route planning and nof sitting in traffic was the key to not overheating it.

Anyways. I had the radiator record recently and at the same time i got the shop to put a bung for a temp switch in.

So tonight i put an electric fan in it

Ive had this mz11 soarer front cut sitting around for a while because it has a 5mge in it. So i decided to pull it today and start preping for it to go in the ms65

After lockdown will get all the cam covers vapour blasted and paint them 

 

The wiring is a pain to follow

Im tracing the wiring for the airflow meter from the ecu plug  which is all inside the body loom fml

Atleast the engine loom is mostly seperate

Ended up putting another 5m in this.

One showed up on marketplace and I acquired it.

Was a bit scabby inside. Ended up swapping cam/lifters/oilpump/sump/can chain and tensioner(Near new)/ and did a headgasket and stem seals whilst it was apart. from spare motors to make it a good thing.

Looks like a low kms motor as theres no visible bore wear

Went to nats 

Had a few dramas alternator shit the bed on the way up ended up in repcos carpark for a while trying to mend the old one. But it was beyond economic repair 

Found one that was close enough on the shelf and with some questionable wiring and spacing it was made to fit 

 

Saturday we left the pack and went af far north as the south island allowed 

 

It's been pretty rumbly in the back for a while now and @RUNAMUCK proclaimed with absolute certainty that it was a left rear wheel bearing . And that he could smell gear oil with his all smelling nose . 

And for a second time he was correct about the faintest of oil leaks that hadn't even presented itself outside of the brake drum yet 

And the wheel bearing was pretty toasted too. So todays job was replacing them 

Quick trip to butler auto for some hg holden bearings and then slipped them on with a press 

all nipped up this arvo and nice and quite
