well that's a fucking relief    .... the bonnet shuts...without having to make a bubble in it or try and track down a aussie one.

a1.jpg.265813734a1bccd3295945250835917e.jpg

and i have lots of room around the motor and heaps of room for a 14"fan now that the davies craig waterpump plate is on and the radiator is in the slam panel.

6" pod filter adapters I'm wanting to use for trumpets finally arrived ... once they trimmed to fit 6 if them in there and molded into 1 and painted....... should be perfect...
Only took 5 weeks on back order from summit racing.....2 days to get to NZ and 16 days to get to me from Auckland.... good old NZ ay.

Now I can work out how much more to remove from the engine bay....pull motor and box out for clean up and build..and start welding all the holes in the engine bay up before mak8ng a rotisserie to do the underside.

did a wee bit today .
finally got the breather tank to fit.
sorted out the rear of the engine bay (again) so the throttle body linkage does hit anything will have room for the Idle air controller and the trumpets will fit.
and still cleaning bits on the motor.

Apart from shocks that's every nut and bolt out..
Build a rotisserie... strip the underseal off the underside..... then off to to be blasted.

huge thats to Pete (valiant) for a 25 spline LSD carrier  and the tools he made to check the breakaway. and it ends up being 100 ft = 135.5nm so thats pretty good led me to think it may have been shimmed . Pete also said it could be dirt /rust.

i decided to pull it apart and soak it for a few days but it turns out its pretty blood clean

43232838_10156149349609775_9037130173157212160_n.jpg.a03b003b245b9903dffc236cf0fed5be.jpg

so i cleaned it up anyway and it turns out it is shimmed.

i rebuilt it with some LSD oil i couldn't find the torque specs for the diff  ( @RUNAMUCK has some)but they didnt feel to tight taking them apart  so i just torqued them down to 30ftlbs. (will do for now as its only getting wrapped in cling film and put on the shelf till the complete diff is ready to be put together.)  i did recheck the breakaway torque again and it was spot on 100 ft again so that's awesome
