Animal2323
Hey guys If this is the wrong place for this feel free to move it to where it belongs. I want to build a trailer using the ass end off a van cut just behind the front seats, then a sheet of metal of some sort welded in the opening. Obviously using the tail lights of the van for the trailer lights. I'd also remove all unnecessary weight (fuel tank, fuel lines etc) with the axle i have a couple ideas. Easiest but heavier is keep the diff housing and just all that set up but my other idea was to remove the housing and all that and making a solid/heavy duty axle using the hubs and brakes off the van so I can have brakes and I'd use a braked trailer hitch. Anyone have any idea if it'll work and/or be legal I know all the size requirements but I'm still working out how much it will way aswel how much it will be able to carry. That'll also determine weather or not it'll be worth making or not Cheers guys

RUNAMUCK
If you use a van like you say, I suspect you could finush up with too much if the towed weight on the drawbar on the car.

Twin axle conversion /he could use the other end of the van even
azzurro
That escort trailer was mine but someone else built it. Scaff pole welded to the front hubs for the axle. Towed really well. I reckon you would probably be tongue heavy with a )longer wheel base van

Bling
Just for something to do, or thinking as a cheap way to build a trailer? What are you wanting to tow on it? Probably cost the same as a normal trailer, but look a lot worse. Just my cynical opinion though. My trailer cost like $900 and has jockey wheel, spare wheel, the works. By the time you fart around, i'm not sure how much you'd potentially save. Axle position will be bad and it will look weird. Resale on trailers is good too, "kustom" ones, not so much.

Mainly just for general use but yea if I was to make it and say for the use of firewood I am only able to use 1/4 or half 1/2 or the storage inside without going over the weight limit then I wouldn't bother making it. Considering it would be an enclosed trailer made out of the ass end of a van how do you suppose this would work
