Moa Beer advertisement - Car wanted - Auckland

Recommended Posts

Through our facebook page we've received a request from a chap who works for Moa Beer:

Hey there. I work for Moa Brewing Company. We are filming a video and are in need of some help. I need to find an old "Kiwi" car to use in the video. Unfortunately all of my friends with old school Toyotas don't fit the bill. We are looking for an old Holden or Ford, a Falcon, Cortina, Escort or something of the likes for a couple hours at 7am Monday morning in Westhaven Marina. Anyone who can help will be compensated for their time in beer etc. Is there any way you know anyone who could help, or you could put a post on the facebook page about this?

As per usual Film type stuff, it's last minute, at an odd time, lacking details and pays poorly but if you are keen then let me know and I can forward you his email address.

Cheers.

More details:

We are filming an advertisement, which I can't go in to details of, the filming will be at 7am, 8 May (next week). We need a car with character, something that wouldn't be out of place on NZ roads 30 years ago, and the scene will be a scrum pushing the car. We are looking for an old Ford or Holden, preferably Commodores or Falcons, but also very keen to look at Cortinas, Escorts, Kingswoods etc.

The person will be reimbursed in beer, and our thanks

Would my Mini work? They can chuck some boxes on the roof rack and drive off into the sunset

I would argue that your Mini meets the criteria, except for the Bogan factor which may be what they are going for. Hence the Falcon/Holden/Valiant mentions.

For all those who may be interested, fire the organiser an email here: jake@moabeer.com
Just to be clear, this advertisement has nothing to do with me, I'm just relaying what was sent to our facebook page by Jake from Moa. Please contact him if you can help.

Still operating at a loss, but FTC.

Rant away, I completely agree with you.

I'm just trying to be neutral by posting it up so that members can make their minds up.

I have a couple of cars that are suitable but zero interest in putting them forward.

Any sort of income from the moneypit would be welcome.

Unless it was a really shit beer...

I think that's kinda the point - we pour money into our cars and that deserves proper recompense if they're using them to make their brand cooler and make a profit. you should get more than beer money or petrol money from commercial interests.

Films like the one in welly posted around here the other day, I understand, they tend to be a labour of love, but Geoff Ross and his mates aren't short of coin.

Personally I wouldn't drink Moa even if it was free.
