well there has been a bit more progress here. The Frame is painted thanks to @EmmyWest and its pretty much rolling now, just waiting on a couple of rear brake parts to get the rear wheel on. My Engine, diff and trans were with the great BMW mechanic Michael Dobson who tragically fell ill with terminal cancer. MD finished my diff and trans but 100% understandably didnt want to dive into the engine as he had a lot to sort in the time he had left. he kindly offloaded it to Ken Howe in wellington, another excellent airhead mechanic who has recently completed the assembly. There were a couple of things that needed replacing that i didnt pick up on, a worn timing sprocket, 2 cam followers etc, im happy I had someone who knew what they were doing putting it back together as i would have likely made a hash of it.

Looks like an engine again now anyway, stoked with the vapour blasting, pretty much looks like its painted.
