I just did a search, and am sad to report that the 5hp briggs forum to which I once belonged no longer exists.  There was a class of racing under the Wisconsin Karting federation which ram them. 

Aftermarket parts existed especially. (Weisco pistons, Carillo rods, etc) Plus that forum had information on modifications too.

I think after market support is still big in the US. They seem to love the Briggs and chuck them on everything. The race engine is called a Raptor and has actual bearings instead of steel on alloy.

 

 

Will try get some videos uploaded including one from a year or so ago when I crashed into a shop wall, and a burnout.

Almost forgot the burnout. Was way more smoke than it looks, filled the workshop. Boss thought it was hilarious when he got to work and smelt burnouts.

Was at work early and was too dark to go for a hoon. Until the boss pulled out a rechargeable work light.

Half my class was away today so I put a couply videos up at the end of the lesson.

Interval the kids were talking about stealing shopping trolleys and asking me for moped bits....

... So good to see them wanting to be creative
