brocky41
I thought this was LD - but might be a 3Litre Merc motor - still, you can make a diesel boogie

Would just be good to be able to do the speed limit up a hill. Just roll down the window, leave it in second gear and cruise. Wave friendly happy waves at the angry people. It's what I do in my wagon. Smile. Tis no time to be angry... we'll get there eventually.
danger
Ok so I removed the hose to the wastegate and we're freeboosting now. Max so far has been 15psi foot flat up a hill. Big gain in power so far. I guess the turbo will want to explode at some point though?
Yowzer
It shouldn't explode at 15, unless it really sucks. You wouldn't want to go any higher without an intercooler though.
Mr.Mk1
Has a good cooler, xr6 coon one. the turbo should be fine, it was in great shape when I put in on and I've never given it heaps. just make sure the cam cover vent is unrestricted and the seals will be mint..maybe take the top off that wee appletons bottle it's jammed into and leave it dangling inside it instead? I'm pretty amped youve doubled the chooch, I was too scared of cooking the back cylinder. That's the downside to running the petrol turbo manifold. If you do kill it, there's a reeeeal honey motor in the garage you can negotiate purchase of from rovers 8-D
Yowzer
Sounds like it should handle 25 no worries. Keep the EGTs below 650°c and it'll be fine.
danger
Yeah I need an EGT meter still but the water temps haven't gone up. Its just got so much more chooch on the hills.
RUNAMUCK
If it's rocking a petrol manifold, I'd be sticking that pyrometer in the primary for number 6.
Valiant
I'd be tempted to ditch that manifold. Is running a non turbo manifold with a J pipe a better option?
RUNAMUCK
@brocky41 has a Jpipe set up which may or may not be for sale.
danger
Intercooler tubing said no thanks after 15psi. Lol Will revise setup. Still haven't bought an EGT meter, poor at the moment.
igor
So drove home in limp mode?
danger
Still registering 5psi on the gauge
Mr.Mk1
Was it the actual tubing that split or the pipe popped off turbo?
