d.p.n.s
Just went and picked up a 2nd hand cage. The 80year old man made it 20years ago and its still pretty good..its about 200mm short (not really worried about that) but all in all a good fit...even came with a cattle door ( pretty heavy so may just take it off and use mesh) good for loading the kids.

d.p.n.s
sooooooooo i wanted some more lights as it does get pretty foggy down here and when i leave for work its before 5am. i dont really like the factory lights in the grills like this below and wanted to go more this way but the original carello lights cost chit loads and hard to find. sooooooo i found a guy in the uk that remakes the original brackets so i have a set on the way and decided to go with some hella comet 500 (in yellow cos euro)

Popular Post d.p.n.s
wee up date. i had a 10" fan on the radiator and it was fine but once i hooked the trailer on and fulled the fucker with wood i noticed that the temp was getting higher than it had before.. so i grabbed a 16" fan as it would fit perfectly in the factory shroud but NO!!!!! well it did fit perfectly but even with moving the radiator back in closer it still hit the water pump. so i had to put it on the other side. and fuck me it blows......gets up to temp ...fan kicks in and it turns off withing a few minutes.....(just idling) and then i started on the spot light. (karl pointed out tome one day that there are dimples in the panel for mounting holes) so after drilling them out i mounted the ..............um ....mounts now all wired up and working ......even changed to the mk4 grill

d.p.n.s
just a wee update. still daily driving it and all the maintenance i have done is a set of plugs.. but yesterday i swapped out the 4 speed for a 5 speed... to be honest i think i prefer the 4 speed but the 5th gear will make it nice driving back and forth to work. the throw on the gear stick was like rowing a boat so i shortened up about 20-30%. all in all. very happy
d.p.n.s
a wee small update on th old girl (picture less ) she flew throw her 2nd WOF in my possession... i also swapped th aftermarket hard as fuck engine mounts that shock evry thing to death out for the old factory ones in th mk3. so much better but the engine sat a wee bit lower and that in turn lifted the arse end of the gearbox and then that made the driveshaft rubber doughnut hit the tunnel.. so i spaced the gearbox crossmember down and man its so smooooooth and awesome to drive. i also swapped the heater motor out (chewed to fuck and on full tit vibrated like mad) for the mk3 motor...man the heat and silence is perfect. on a side note with the 5speed i am now getting just over 500ks of daily driving goodness to a tank of gas. so all in all still happy with it..(needs and LSD and 100 more HP)
d.p.n.s
stripped down the old 205 block..standard bores ans all in all very good condition .still collecting bits here and there for the rebuild. my very good condition 2nd hand cosworth pistons arrived today..will go nicely with the eagle rods. my cosworth 2wd inlet manifold is on its way and i have a mate looking out for an oil pump pick and bore squirters from an rs500

d.p.n.s
well after over 2 years of ownership and passing every wof so far as well as never really letting me down apart from the few times it hasn't wanted to start. there are a few issues with the old girl...after last years hamner meet it picked up a vibration in the drive train.(still looking into that. the motor starts and runs well but it blowing smoke (valve guides are stuffed .(working on that now) so i do have a 205 pinto motor in bits so im going to rebuild that and to factory spec ...no interested in huge cams and twin side drafts ..im happy with the motor in my cortina now so just want the same....its good on gas and can pull a trailer with another car on it fine. so i started cleaning up the old 205 pistons.
