First time posting, sorry if I've done anything wrong.

This is my 1966 Mk1 Triumph, was my dads but he doesn't have any time to work on it so it now mine :)

Discuss:

Originally had a 2000 motor with auto gearbox but was changed over to a fully rebuilt 2500 engine with Tr5 cam, auto box was replaced with a manual overdrive around 96' I think, also was repainted around that time. Motor has only done 10000km since then. Failed a warrant in 2006 and has basically been sitting since then.

To Do List

  • Rusty Brake Lines
  • Fuel Pump Rebuild
  • Rust R/H Door Pillar
  • Rust in Doors
  • Rust L/H Door Pillar
  • Rust Front L/H & R/H Sill and Boot Floor
  • U Joints need replacing
  • Rear axle gasket needs replacing
  • Suspension seems higher on one side? Think needs new or rebuilt struts

Sorry about the pics but don't really have any of the car actually looking complete.

Car has basically been stripped on the outside. There was lots of rust bubbling out partly because of it sitting in a carport for 7-8 years and partly because of the bad paint job and repairs done previously. Dent on front where cat had knocked a piece of wood onto the car :(

Engine runs great. Radiator has been flushed, new oil and spark plugs. Water pump and thermometer gaskets have been replaced along with the rocker cover gasket  Fuel pump also had to be rebuilt as it leaked.

This is the L/H front Inner fender, frame rail had almost completely rusted away. Basically same thing on the other side.

Wire wheeled and covered in rust converter, frame rail patch welded in.

Don't know what you call this but the water is supposed to run down here into the fender? Anyway rusted metal gone.

Probably the worst part on the car, Probably a centimeter of bog covering this, which rust had bubbled up through. Was a previous repair done with what I think was a gas torch, sand? and bog by the previous car painters. Not sure how to fix this. Ideally needs a whole new fender but 16 yo me is way to poor for that.

Anyway hopefully by posting on here I will have more motivation to work on this. Next planning on purchasing some por15 to do the battery tray and inner fender

Got some work done today, Decided to fix up a little rust hole in drivers side sill. Ended up taking most of the sill off.

Started of with this wee little hole, pulled the cutout out and lo and behold. lots of rust :(

Lots of surface rust on the frame rail has been wire wheeled off.

Frame rail solid apart from here, Metal very thin and lined with holes. Quite an awkward place to work, need to take the whole fender off to remove the rest of the sill.

I can't believe how long it has been since last updating on here. Very little has been done as I've been busy with my last year of school (mostly laziness). I'm hoping to get stuck in over the summer break though.

Here is a tiny bit I have done though. Mostly just finding more rust

Rust on the right hand side sill door jamb thingy.

Not to bad on the backside of the fender

And more rust :( This is at the front side left rear wheel arch. IMG_20171113_201521.thumb.jpg.af504a6301a0662009fb005bc0a3d908.jpg
