Popular Post Threeonthetree
It's been too long but now is the time and the weather to bring out the old cars, rouse the children from their post-christmas-overeating laziness and maybe even ask the missus to come too. You know, if she wants too. Here is the plan: On Sunday the 15th of January (2017) we'll meet in the Botany shopping centre carpark on the corner of Ti Rakau Drive and Chapel Road, Botany. Aim to meet here at 11am. The corner of the carpark beside Danske Mobler is where we'll meet. It's closest to the intersection of the aforementioned roads and is a bit out of the way for regular shoppers. Once there are enough of us, we'll cruise off at 11:30am at the latest. We'll be heading towards Beachlands via Whitford so the first leg will be through Whitford Road and into Whitford village. We'll continue through to Beachlands where we'll be stopping off at the recently completed Pine Harbour Marina Motorsport Museum in Pine Harbour (it's just a fancy new part of Beachlands for those who have never heard of it). After taking a look around, it's into Beachlands for some lunch and then down to the beach to park up and eat lunch. There is a park on the beachfront and also a playground with toilet facilities too. Bring your frisbee/cricket set/RC car etc. Once we've all had lunch, we'll go for another short cruise into Maraetai and go for a swim. So pack ya daks mayte and bring the whanau along. I'll be attempting to do some mean Mangeres off the pier ow. What to bring: A good attitude Your family if possible. We want this to be family oriented and a day where the kids and partners can see that the point of owning an old car is to enjoy it and not just throw money at it Some money for food and maybe fuel Drinks of your preference, beach stuff including sunscreen and towels etc Your mates if they are keen to join us too Preferably an old car Feel free to comment below. But yeah, this is locked in for the 15th. 15356796_10157935967310441_1370342053_n by Neal OnTheTree, on Flickr

Threeonthetree
Cheers guys and girls. This is a pretty great response! I have tried many times to contact the curator of the Pine Harbour Motorsport Museum but to no avail. BUT, the museum is completely glass sided so we can park up at the Marina and take a good look around as the children wonder why Daddy and his friends are getting excited over cars with funny paint jobs. I am aware of how busy it gets out Maraetai way on weekends but we can always cruise a little bit further if required. Either way, it's a pretty relaxed affair so no stress. I need to put this diff into the police car asap so I can attend in it. Otherwise I may have to bring the Triumph. I'm going to cruise out to the Pine Harbour area tonight for a bit of a looksie.

Yeh i've had a nosey just through the glass before, didn't see any opening hours or anything listed on doors. It's pretty small so you can see everything from outside. And you're right, there's heaps of spots that you can park 10+ cars along the Maraetai Road, she'll be right etc.
