Threeonthetree
What's the go with owning/driving a replica police car? Does it require a permit or something? It depends on the car, the era and the style of livery that it runs. My HJ does not require any of the 'Police' logos to be covered up. Nor does the light bar need to be covered due to the obvious differences between the logos/lightbar and the current logos and lightbars. I am not permitted to use the lights and/or sirens on public roads unless prior permission from the New Zealand Police is granted. I keep in touch with them via email and run through some questions if they arise, plus they let me know if the vehicle is required for any official police parades or events. A more modern Police car such as a VY Commodore must have all 'Police' logos covered up and the lightbar must be completely covered when driven on public roads. Modern is subjective so you need to ask the police and show them a picture etc and let them decide.
oldmatedan
Very cool car sir Is it auto or full blown 3 on the tree?
Kiwibirdman
The hub caps are the correct ones for an HJ. The car this is copied off is an HZ SL Kingswood, which got the full wheel cover type hub cap. The SL also got the rubber inserts in the bumpers, cloths inserts in the seats, silver dash fascia and a clock.
