Popular Post cletus
@RXFORD is a fuckin legend , sorted it out and did a lovely job off to the painter tomorrow Been a busy week, got home and a couple of deliveries had arrived, one of which was the exhaust for the bike so that should keep me occupied for a bit

Popular Post cletus
Looks better I think. Quite a lot lighter and sounds good, about where I wanted it, not obnoxiously noisy but enough to be able to hear it Start Finish Was pretty straight forward to fit, bolts on apart from the mount brackets, I made 2 aluminium brackets to attach it to the bike and job done Am just waiting on some small indicators to arrive then I can get rid of that ugly bit at the back
Adoom
Does your Hornet smell like it runs really rich? Mine does. Apparently it's fairly common in the CB900.
cletus
I haven't noticed it smelling rich, but i have noticed with the stock high pipes that my backpack got a bit of exhaust smell in it and the number plate is slightly stained I have read people's posts on forums saying the same thing , getting stinky fumes especially in traffic Does yours use lots of fuel? Popular Post cletus
Picked it up Sunday evening, leaving it for a week in the garage for the paint to go hard before I start fitting parts back on it
Popular Post cletus
Looks good all back together. Last thing will be side moldings which you can buy in a roll and cut to length,so I ordered a roll from murica minus the chrome strip Here you can see it in its natural habitat it's an ideal vehicle for trips around town, it fits into car parks that are big enough, and 5.7 litres of engine is enough to haul over a dozen eggs! 31 2

cletus
Yeah I wouldn't be driving it every day. I'm too scared to let it go lower than half full , I don't want to know how much it costs to fill from empty
xsspeed
I vote no side moldings, this looks so clean
Popular Post cletus
Fitted some little indicators and got rid of the rest of the rear guard so that's about it for mods on this I might paint some of the silver/grey bits black as it looks a bit odd having so many different colors imo

Yeh, the exhaust smell thing. My bag and jacket would reek of fumes. With STRONG tailwinds over the Remutakas the stinky fumes catch up. I don't think it uses lots of fuel. Less than the 2zzge.

Popular Post cletus
I ignored a minor fork seal leak for a while, the other day I thought I'd go for a ride but noticed a puddle of oil on the wheel so figured it wasn't minor any more Forks out to get seals done , may as well give it a front end once over so it's getting a new front tyre, pads and a bleed plus paint some bits black. It's always been a bit funny on entry to a corner- kind of unsettled with weight on the front end so I'm hoping a new tyre plus fork service sorts that out. The tyre passed a wof but the sides particularly one side was borderline, plus had some slight cupping on the tread I had Bridgestone S21 on my last bike and they were good so I'm getting an S22 this time, the rear tyre was new when I got the bike, its still got half tread so that will go again for now and I'll get a matching s22 when it needs it. I'm kind of surprised how fast the rear tyre has worn, it has avon spirit STs on it at the moment which seem good in the wet but has a lot of tread grooves, which are quite feathered on the edges
flyingbrick
I have the s22 on the busa and it's supposed to he an extremely good tire. Most busa riders here seem to use this or the touring equivalent (has a harder center, good if you don't corner as much and find you flatten the centre) I don't push it as hard as some, but it's definitely good peace of mind Incase I was to go in too hot and have to really push it over. Those sides are sticky!!
