Roman Posted December 12, 2024 Posted December 12, 2024 Another option if you still have leaks, is from repco you can buy gasket making cardboard stuff. Fancy weetbix packet essentially, but might be worth a try if you're still having leaks. There are a few options, not sure if one in particular is better for coolant. https://www.repco.co.nz/parts-service/car-engine-parts/gaskets/permaseal-gasket-sheet-boj-500x500x1-5mm-mp0152/p/A1290061 Quote
tortron Posted December 13, 2024 Posted December 13, 2024 The Holden requirements are that you drop a "water pump lubrication" tablet in the radiator every time you work on the cooling system It's literally one of these https://www.supercheapauto.co.nz/p/rislone-rislone-radiator-stop-leak-tablets-50g-pack/681095.html?srsltid=AfmBOoqQHPLrnGHoq-xadBA4aP4Pkt4V68eGyMm-mLLcJFToGZmEpNCS But with a Holden part number 2 Quote

jakesae101 Posted December 13, 2024 Posted December 13, 2024 Have had a good run with sealwell cubes tbh and they dont seem to jizz anything up. Has managed to keep my mini retaining its coolant after a few small issues 2 Quote
Muncie Posted December 13, 2024 Author Posted December 13, 2024 Somehow I got new (old) tyres on trailer and fixed a massive hole in floor, car tows like a landcruiser with the turbo 2 Quote

I thought the old shocks were ok but this is night and day difference. I've got to figure out how they work. One was at 3 clicks one was 9 so I've started at 3 and will see how it rides. 1 Quote

Hopefully this isnt a suck eggs comment but get someone to video your first run (focusing on how it comes out off the line at the back) You want it to squat, 3 should be ok but see how it goes and dont be afraid to click it down to a 1 :p if your doing track/drift id start at a 7 and work my way from there Also im fizzing for everyone and im there in spirit 1 Quote

jakesae101 Posted December 13, 2024 Posted December 13, 2024 They were on 9 thats half way i think? in my car but that was on fe2 suspension and whiteline bars my bcs are on 6 from full soft and its pretty much where i want it but my trans is a bit more vicious than stock so the shifts cold are pretty firm shall we say so you get some pretty rad wheel hop. 12 hours ago, Muncie said: It doesn't bounce at all ! Muncie Posted December 13, 2024 Author Posted December 13, 2024 14.1 something at 100mph plus best of day I've taken subs out and will run a couple more runs at same boost see if im able to crack a 13. Did 14.6 as is full street mode after taking trailer off bacon and egg sandwich on passenger seat. Took a bit to soften up drag slicks. Got an exhaust leak but whatever it doesn't seem to effect it much 9 Quote
Muncie Posted December 14, 2024 Author Posted December 14, 2024 My Personal drag challenge went Well I smoked almost everything I raced today the one race I lost was to a beautiful mustang track car i forgot I was in 2nd after burnouts so hit the 6400rpm rev limiter going through traps. Now has a horrible exhaust leak but seems unscathed otherwise even after towing a heavy trailer there and back. Didn't crack a 13 second but over moon regardless, needs a high stall for transmission to get much faster as its now scrambling for traction even with slicks. 5 Quote
jakesae101 Posted December 14, 2024 Posted December 14, 2024 Fantastic result! Its about a 750 to get your factory one restalled they can only get them to around 21-2200. 1 Quote
Muncie Posted December 14, 2024 Author Posted December 14, 2024 I've found a well known home workshop dude that'll do one for about $350 providing i pull it out he's got plenty of work out there so good feedback so can't go wrong for price. I found it better to just stab it off line to load up trans and turbo kind of worked bit of lag. I have a setup that should work like Nitrous Oxide but needs some experiments to see how it goes. What boost did you end up running in the end? Quote
Muncie Posted December 14, 2024 Author Posted December 14, 2024 Sent it on 9-10 psi all day I wish i took my 275's as the slicks were still quite skatey when it came up on boost first run it felt like it spun for ever. As soon as i turned it up it blew the drivers manifold gasket didn't hurt times but it sounded bit shit. Still best fun ever in a $600 dollar car I've had. So much potential for more power too I just got chicken and wanted to get car home running but took 3 passengers so everyone was happy. Favourite Photo taken By Roman Dave. 8 1 Quote
Roman Posted December 14, 2024 Posted December 14, 2024 Was awesome seeing this run! Love it how it has full interior etc, towing a trailer on way there, does its drag day stuff, then back to regular duties. An awesome all rounder. You've done a great job. 8 Quote

Not the guy in Auckland named Louni? That offers some rather cheap 4l60 rebuilds a mate of mine who did my trans had a horror story or two of peoples trans that had a very short life due to rebuilds not really being rebuilds and some very suspect reassembly. He was basically rebuilding them for what a reputable full rebuild kit costs so you have to wonder what you get for the $$. 2 Quote
