Have a dude lined up to build a hi stall though. Mine is built for 6-700 hp sonnax hd 3/4 drum shift kit 4 pin planetary gears uprated clutches all round full billet servo kit some shaft upgrades and has some booster and pump work running a re stalled converter at 2100 ideally it still needs more converter to say around 25-2800 1 Quote
Muncie Posted October 3, 2024 Author Posted October 3, 2024 Man I'd love an 8hp that's an expensive conversion though, so I'll probably stick to 4L60E and try some different diff gears. It's really punchy as is full boost before 2500rpm so it's fairly easy to live with even with only 4 ratios lots of torque and it wants to rev its tits off! I'll do this servo than gather some courage and do a shift kit. 1 Quote
jakesae101 Posted October 3, 2024 Posted October 3, 2024 im also running a 3.46 rear gear it sits at 2k at 100 so still good for long trips ect and has a bit more punch than the factory 3.07 1 Quote
Muncie Posted October 4, 2024 Author Posted October 4, 2024 I just had a look at an Adventra with 7 fault codes for engine and no 3rd gear, and mandatory small tree in passengers footwell. Very loved car that lady has sentimental value too so diff would be mint and guards etc for a widebody if I run those BMW Wheels. Might lowball and stick in back yard. Always thought a 4wd sedan would be epic....... 2 Quote
jakesae101 Posted October 4, 2024 Posted October 4, 2024 They made a 4wd monaro so certainly is possible! Quote
Muncie Posted October 5, 2024 Author Posted October 5, 2024 I'll grab it for the front panels probably nice headlights and flares and diff are worth keeping sure a good alloytech is worth something to someone. Quote
Muncie Posted October 12, 2024 Author Posted October 12, 2024 Really happy with this thing been driving it heaps since redoing exhaust no photo's of that as i welded last of it in a rainstorm....... threw raincoat over welder and welded last mount on in a downpour. it still bloody rattles but its in such a small spot i should be able to just dent it a little and call it good. i found all the wastegate springs today, thought about jamming the next size up in fairly sure it would shit a head gasket immediately or torch a piston crown. keep it simple make it to the OSdrags is the goal must not kill it before then Booked a week off so will give it a thorough birthday get a wof then its all on! there's a dude in a 300zx from last year i was so close to pulling away from this year hope i can line him up again as that was such a good match up. 3 Quote

What springs in it? take a boost tap with you and wind it up a little at the drags after each pass? Quote
Muncie Posted October 12, 2024 Author Posted October 12, 2024 @shrike Its running 6psi now so a tap would get that to 12 at a guess $100 for a turbo smart one is worth a try. 1 Quote
Muncie Posted October 12, 2024 Author Posted October 12, 2024 New map built over weekend have raised the fuel cut to 6200 as it kept tagging the rev limit 1st to 2nd. A bit more mucking around with fuel and cold start tables to get it to start easier, current start floor it it goes puffs some smoke all good hopefully this helps does make it hard to steal though which is a positive as there has been a few attempts by people to nick it. 2 Quote
Muncie Posted October 13, 2024 Author Posted October 13, 2024 Just did the servo upgrade could of done it in 5 minutes if I hadn't cleaned up and found extra parts....... yes I did that. Fortunately it was the plunger just under cap so didn't have to drop rear mount or exhaust again. Was very filthy around servo looked like fishoil and road dirt so I thoroughly cleaned that up before reassembly with a new o ring. Nice little upgrade it seems to be getting better and better more i drive it previously power mode was all good no slipping but normal mode it would flare at part throttle. That's gone now and power mode is nice and snappy no slipping anywhere. Very pleased thanks for the tip @jakesae101 i feel it's gonna live now. 9 Quote
Muncie Posted October 13, 2024 Author Posted October 13, 2024 The reflash went well short term fuel trims are basically zero to no more than 2% everywhere except at idle i can live with that. Restart still needs a little work but lights off instantly with some throttle not too worried about it now. It runs drives and feels solid as. Whoop! 3 years since I started ordering parts. 5 Quote

Pretty sure ive got one in a box in my dads garage in wellington (older model, think ive got one sitting in a box here in oz too ha) but obviously not much help Keen to see/hear how it goes 1 Quote
Muncie Posted October 14, 2024 Author Posted October 14, 2024 Happy with Turbosmart for under 200 bucks. If I lose control of the wastegate there's going to be shit sent to space! Or through the turbo which would break my heart (and bank) 8-10 psi it should be happy as more than that i can see headgaskets in the immediate future or running out of fuel supply......... I never did stick that fuel pump and regulator in. Have a week off coming up where I might get that stuff done. 2 Quote
Muncie Posted October 16, 2024 Author Posted October 16, 2024 Feeling some enthusiasm mounted up the new fuel pressure reg in spot vacated by EGR valve. Wiring is still there so If i wanted to put a sensor on it and have a new data stream. Just needs some tees and fuel line to hook it up, was going to do all AN fittings but can't justify spending the coin at moment can be a later job when I do it AN8 From tank. 2 Quote
Muncie Posted October 16, 2024 Author Posted October 16, 2024 A new XDF was released that unlocks a whole pile more things in PCM and also now comes with terminology comments holy shit im excited to mess with torque management!! When this thing gets excited it starts kicking in Torque reduction usually a message first then cuts all power hopefully i can make it a bit less abrupt. There's also an option to turn it off completely that doesn't require pushing a button on dash which ruined a few runs down strip. Gives me some options if I let other people drive it like my dad and my daughter who both have zero fear. 1 Quote

I hope you have time to get the fuel pump upgrade in Fully keen to see video of this going down the strip, hoping @Roman can line up his V6 against it 1 Quote
Muncie Posted October 16, 2024 Author Posted October 16, 2024 Haha Romans cars built with science this is built with hammers and flat head screwdrivers, weight plus v6 plus turbo versus revs bugger all weight and a manual I'm keen for that line up (i think I'll get my ass handed to me in a hubcap) @roman hope you make it there. 1 Quote
Roman Posted October 16, 2024 Posted October 16, 2024 The only way I'll win is by firing all my pistons at his car. Likewise, super keen to see your car again! Has had a huge amount of development since last year, keen to see how it goes. 30% more trap speed this year? haha 2 Quote
