I'm also aware i need to sort my suspension out, the back is sorted out for shocks but needs to come down 50mm, i was naughty and just cut the fronts for drag day so i was always going to need new springs so i think that's where my energy (and Money) needs to be at moment, The engine is fine as is and should be making about 300-320hp and i can rig up the new MAF retaining the old wiring so i can go between the stock one and the LS2 MAF using my 2 PCM's with different calibrations so i can tune as i get time but roll back to what i know works.

Its annoying i need to Cert this but is what is. Maybe 2026 i'll book it in once i build a fresh engine.

Few minutes to spare let's see if i can get these other 9" wide rims on front..... rumour has it spacers are needed quick test fit says possibly not, their close but I've run wheels closer. That's a win these aren't my dream wheels but they do meet my criteria of been the widest possible width the guards can accommodate without drastic surgery i could even run a small spacer on front and get the fitment dead perfect with a 255 35 19.

Think ill just give them a clean up and rattle can throw on some tyres and run them.

Should get the front looking as pumped as rear with a fat tyre up front.

Oh and the silicone reducers to fit the new airflow meter are almost here so can get on to mapping it to 20psi!

And heaving the rods out the block..

I might try get some 15s if budget allows or something at right price does.

Could jam some 175's on my steels for front as an absolute bargain option.

Think my 275 30 19s will get power down pretty well this time if I just run as I brung i ran a 14.5 on a 245 40 19 with all the shit in the boot first run last time on 5 psi next run was the 14.1 and cracked the exhaust manifold.

I'll keep eyes out for some oldschool.co.nz approved small rims though.

My silicone reducers showed up so can assemble the next part of the inlet puzzle, Camaro/Saab MAF turned out to be some guesswork as it falls between been a 3.5" and 4.0" so took a gamble ordered 3.0-3.5 reducers and hoped they would be able to stretch over.

As you can see success, bit of slippery stuff some grunting I now have a slip on upgrade that should give me good resolution to about 20psi.

You can use a LS7 card MAF but these are apparently tricky to dial in without a dyno and dont look as cool.

When will I fit this? Not sure. The new operating system i flashed in has some quirks i dont understand at moment so need to work those out before adding this in to mix.

Took the long way to get the width wheels i wanted ended up with 245 35 19 Pirellis up front on 9" rims and some Laufenn 275 30 19 on the rear 10"s plenty of meat, offset must be favourable doesn't rub and steers better than the Holden wheels i was running.

I had my mind set on a 255 for front but these came up for 100 bucks..... what's 10mm anyway.

Not the dream wheels but they aren't horrible and keep the factory.....ish vibe i like about this thing.

Springs should be next now bum down front up slightly would be mint.

Hope you like a bit of drifting, especially in the wet haha

/Had 275/30r19 Laufens on the back of my first Merc, would spin them right up into 5th gear with ESP doing all it could to keep the car going straight.

They bite pretty well aren't the entry level ones still cheaper than other things out there, good starting point incase to try out this width. But I'm open to sending them up in smoke at drags!

They leave huge 11's and look fat which is cool.

Will do, everything else you suggested worked well. It hooks up really well now front and rear with wider track tyres and shocks.

Keen to go roll racing when that's on next.

I've dropped down to a 30 profile tyre in rear I did a 14.5@100mph on a 40 profile so that should be a healthy bump in gearing to get it leaving better and coming on boost earlier down track where it was a slug previously.

Just about ready for cert , just waiting on the last bits to fit the vf 4 pot brembos ive been rocking clubsport bigger brakes for a while but its time for some real ones!

I have been eying up some massive BMW brakes for quite a while but they would need some machining im just not up for at moment.

I've had this thing up to 220kph now and there its still pulling hard at that when you see sparks as your slowing down it makes you nervous,

Keen to hear how you go with the vf upgrade once your done.

If you want to upgrade to clubby brakes let me know,

bigger 2 pots 330x32 mm slotted bendix rotors new rotors have done a couple of thousand ks. With safebrake braided lines.

i also have a set of dba gold cross drilled rotors for the standard brakes that were skimmed and didnt see much use before upgrading.

unsure whats happening with my rears yet possibly have something that will happen. You can fit the vented rear rotors from the redline i think it is easy enough they are virtually the same thickness just vented. The clubby ones use the same caliper just a different carrier and a 315x18mm vented rotor

the clubby stuff is a good step.

Chucked in new airflow meter today fired up fairly easy running quite rich so I'll need to adjust fuel to suit. Just fudged wiring together till I'm happy to wire in permanently soldered ends and jammed in original plug.

Its linear on wide band though so I could be able to get away with fudging some injector tables to bring it back in spec.

Current engine is starting to get a bit of a rattle at idle and on logs it's starting to lose sync on Crank angle sensor occasionally. That end float I've ignored for 5 years is starting to get worse.

I've got a supercharged block with 2 scratched bores, I think I might try honing them see if they "Buff Out" and replace the 2 pistons if damaged. That'll get it a strong bottom end for a around a 1k. If not rebore and new standard pistons is probably reasonable too.

Nice and cold tonight quick squirt up road to grab dinner.  Way more induction noise than before maybe the old maf was a restriction.

Logged on weekend upt to 4000rpm air/fuel is safe could do with a bit more under boost to get it to magic 12:1 fuel ratio recommended on these things it's only mid 12.5:1 so I won't stress for now.

I need to get the Blow Off valve on I'm paronoid of blowing another turbo.

Overall big MAF appears to have fixed a few things it appears it wasn't as rich as I though once warm doesn't stink like first start so I could pull some fuel out on start up.

Feels faster but I've been driving a diesel Holden Colorado all week could be placebo. Going to pull some timing and tidy up fuel a bit more..... Maybe crank it up to 15psi see what falls out.
