Cos ive also got some great suggestions on how to waste money Im all ears, im leaning towards ignoring clearances and throwing new bearings and pistons in it. Failed under no load sub 3000 rpm so shouldnt be destroyed in there. Just annoying i wont be likely to get to drag day in it 2 Quote

Muncie Posted October 30 Author Posted October 30 Never been so dissapointed to see so many perfectly intact functional parts. My oil tray also resembles basecoat for a bronze paintjob how can something with 11km on it eat shit so hard! 2 Quote
RUNAMUCK Posted November 1 Posted November 1 LPG offers.a lot of benefits over petrol too. If you lean it out, the engine doesn't break. The fire goes out, and the engine falls on its face. No detonation/broken pistons/etc Quote
Muncie Posted November 1 Author Posted November 1 Yup i know exactly where that car is its 1 street over from me, its actually pretty nice. 3 hours ago, RUNAMUCK said: LPG offers.a lot of benefits over petrol too. No detonation/broken pistons/etc I am a massive LPG retard from way back had a PI MK1 Triumph on gas with individual throttle bodies great for na its hard to ignite under moderate boost though. I would have to delete it with this as the stock PCM cant handle more than 750mg/s of airflow so you extend the timing and fuel maps over the LPG section so can run more boost my current tune running 9psi got to over 1000mg/s and i want to run 20plus. Might go check it out. 3 Quote
Muncie Posted November 1 Author Posted November 1 Checked it out..... will try scratch money together. 3 Quote
Muncie Posted November 3 Author Posted November 3 I may, May! have secured a rebuilt engine i cant collect for a month and its miles away. Theres a slim possibilty i make it with a built engine to drag day but it could happen. Ill be racing regardless in a holden....... I am now motivated again! 6 2 Quote
Roman Posted November 3 Posted November 3 Where is it? Maybe there's someone on OS travelling who could bring it up 2 Quote

Muncie Posted November 9 Author Posted November 9 Well with the commodore project stalled at moment (actually software wise ive been franticly building some sellable products) Climbed into under and through my little Holden Trax today to replace the oil filter/cooler assembly.......... fuck my life cat converter off turbo off broke the oil feed spigot off in block, retrieved the broken spigot and got to point where ive dropped so many tools and nuts into the dark void of engine bay i cant go any further till i get them out. However its drivable again to get on ramps so ill water blast everything out and hope tools and nuts drop on ground. Trying not to like this little thing its hilariously quick with a tank of 100 octane on board, heated comfy seats etc it doesnt suck. But it needs to be sold to fund evrything else. 2 Quote
Muncie Posted November 14 Author Posted November 14 Because im crazy I've decided to learn how to use HxD and Ghidra and write a new spark cut binary file for the PCM with the file patched to behave more like an LS PCM this will work as a 2 step once done. Did some tuning work for a guy with a skid car that Zach got parts from built a ghost cam tune with the trans manualised. Learned heaps goofy as but whatever its for show. 3 Quote
Muncie Posted November 15 Author Posted November 15 Turbo Holden's you say. (Korean flavour) Just did the oil cooler housing and orings on the trax baby 1400cc ecotec every things masport mower size. Was quoted between $2500 and $3500 to fix it so saved megabucks wasnt utterly terrible job the internet said remove the everything's i got away leaving turbo connected to its plumbing but unbolted from head and moved to side. Nice to have a small win after the commodore. Might bring it to drag day for a giggle....... or zachs car, this would be quicker. Quote
Muncie Posted November 17 Author Posted November 17 Zachs got his car on its ass. All legit though springs are captive and it hovers along road I'd like to soften his shocks up more though bit bouncy for my old spine. 5 Quote
Muncie Posted November 27 Author Posted November 27 Woop engines getting delivered on monday! i'm not risking dropping this in without ensuring theres adequate assembly lube over everything as i think thats why the last New (now dead) engine shat bed, it sat on stand for 5 years i oil canned shit out of everything and had oil pressure before plugging CAS sensor alas i missed something. I'll throw some ARP main studs in it too and new timing chain, seeing as Drag day is not going to happen i'll allow some more scope creep look at a cam and LS7 lifters to get most out of heads and turbo. 4 Quote
