Lord Gruntfuttock Posted April 5 Posted April 5 I did in fact fill some with cold tea. Mate came round and we were having a beer and he asked about the whisky. I casually popped the cork and sculled about a quarter of the bottle looking him in the eye to assert dominance... 5 Quote

Thousand Dollar Supercar Posted April 5 Posted April 5 It would be hypocritical of me not to give a thumbs up to a bar made of upcycled furniture, featuring Islay whisky and pointless lights... ...provided that no fireplaces were harmed in the making of said bar. I caution you not to store liqueurs in there or the ants will find them one day. 1 Quote

Popular Post 63Ragtop Posted April 7 Popular Post Posted April 7 As seen elsewhere on os.ng, I acquired a rong-fu mill drill, which necessitated a complete rejigger of the place. No wanting to lose my fuckin sick old chest of bank drawers, I have a plan. Moving this thing means first removing all 22 separate double sinked, adjustable depth drawer, I once tried to walk it across the floor, and as strong as it is the weight started crushing the corner. Chopped four draws high off, the bottom 1.5 draw were missing anyway. Used a spot weld drill, removed the floor, squared up the edges and bent it over with a pair of wide flat vice grips, worked really well. Tucked the corners in nice. Then realized I couldn't actually fit the floor and and to unbend it! And back up, you'd never know bar the plug weld burn through. Less drawers forces me to be more efficient and throw some crap out. Spent ages cleaning and chopping up metal. Nearly went with this design as the mill footprint is only 320 between bolt holes. Fully weldy now, I've got a 2x6 plank for the top. 24 Quote
Popular Post Muncie Posted April 12 Popular Post Posted April 12 Big update for my PCM flash bench, started doing LS stuff which is a bit more expensive so wanted to have every recommendation ticked off so I dont have issues like bricking PCM's Laboratory power supply, made the little switching box today to mimic been in car so has switch for battery power (simulated) and ignition on. Some pcms want a key off cycle to reset after a flash so I can safely power up watch current draw flash do a key cycle then power down. Works mint! I need to buy some connectors so I can plug in different PCM harnesses to the switch box easily. Currently have all GM stuff but also have Volkswagen OBD devices too. Side hustle incoming. 14 Quote
Popular Post JustHarry Posted April 16 Popular Post Posted April 16 Doing a few more jobs on dad's 1929 plymouth motor. Had one of the engineers at work re-whitemetal the bearings a while ago . Sorting the valve lash adjusters now. They were pretty worn down from the valve stem. Didn't have a before pic but here's some hard facing tig rod and a surface ground finish That bolt is 97 years old now 20 Quote

Popular Post Lord Gruntfuttock Posted April 19 Popular Post Posted April 19 Shit yeah excellent use of space I made a Ministry of silly walks clock yesterday. Quite pleased with my $5 charity shop clock modification... 21 Quote
h4nd Posted April 27 Author Posted April 27 Yeah, I wanted an indicator that THIS powerboard was live. A night-light with tape over the sensor was a close miss, but a bit diffuse. So, clear plug end + NE3 neon and 270k resistor, voila! I may yet change it for one of those nice Cherenkov Radiation Blue neons.. 7 Quote
Popular Post Raizer Posted May 3 Popular Post Posted May 3 *Mid school car shit ahead lol Last weekend I pulled this lot out from under my CLS 550 Utilized some random off-cuts and scrap steel to make up a rough and ready jig Choppy choppy! Thanks @chris r for hooking me up with the X pipe etc!! Turned up a couple V band blanking/purge plates Used WAY more argon and spent a lot longer with a TIG torch in my hand than I ever anticipated (zero complaints though, can use all the practice I can get!) Ended up with this today And almost surprisingly it actually fits where it's meant to haha Has the Euro V8 snarl I was hoping for so I'm calling it a win. But if any Welly GC is keen to drop by Pick a Part with a reciprocating saw let me know, there is a pair of rear mufflers there that I would really like to finish it off with! 19 Quote
Bearded Baldy Posted May 4 Posted May 4 I have a pair of pacemaker rear mufflers from a holden ssv 6.0 ute in the shed. Could probably turn a deal on them as my brother doesn't want them back and i want shelf space. Can grab a photo or 2 tomorrow if ya want? Quote

There's an AMG at PaP down in Welly which has factory high flow mufflers that are a direct fit etc, but I'm not afraid of custom fitment lol. 1 Quote
Popular Post sheepers Posted May 5 Popular Post Posted May 5 Right so generator shed. It's now got a generator in it. which is nice. I needed a way to get the zorst out through the wall without burning the shed down. I went to Chase distributors and found a muffler, flex joint and pipe off a dihatsu that was the right size and was also in the specials bin. So I chopped that up and made it fit, made a sweet slip joint out of bit of zorst tube that's a perfect for over the outside of the 38mm and away we go. Then I made a box to allow a 40mm air gap all around the muffler where it passes or through the wall. I made some teflon spacers so it can't heat transfer to the outside hood. I'll make a simple flange around the outside of the box and they will screw into the cladding of the shed. And they will be the zorst finished. 13 Quote
